LordPingu
My psu fan will not spin at all(apart from when starting up my pc for a few seconds) even at high loads(furmark and prime95). The temperatures get pretty high 50 celsius when playing very intensive games but are fine when just using it. But I think my psu fan control must be broken. Please help
MacNB
Which PSU model do you have ? Fan not turning on is normal in the sense that it will only turn on when required. It depends on several factors...e.g. internal temp of your case, ambient temp, etc. With stress programs like Prime95, you have to leave them running for 20-30 minutes before you notice the fan turning on, then it only turns on for a few minutes. Internal temp can get to 50 Celsius with no change. Ambient in room would be from 10-20 Celsius . Also just the first model
peanutz94
what are the rest of your system specs? Fan control is a combination of temp and load . So depending on the rest of your system it may be normal.

peanutz94
MB/CPU/GPU RAM overclocked or not? We need to have an idea of total system consumption to answer your question. A lower powered system even with P95 and furmark may not be enough to get the fan to spin under load.

GTXJackBauer
:brick:.......Not your settings in the bios of your CPU. Is your CPU and GPU overclocked yes or no? What PSU are you talking about and what CPU, GPU, MB are you using? (Give us what models you are using etc) How many fans, hardrives are you using? Fill in your details of your system in your profile or in a signature so we know how much load your system is putting out. Thanks.

MacNB
As I said in my first reply...this is normal for the TX series. Repeat: Fan not turning on is normal in the sense that it will only turn on when required. It depends on several factors...e.g. internal temp of your case, ambient temp, etc. With stress programs like Prime95, you have to leave them running for 20-30 minutes before you notice the fan turning on, then it only turns on for a few minutes. These PSU's work fanless until temp reaches around 50degC. If your ambient temp is 18-20degC and your system is idling (no stress) then most likely you will never see it turn...blissful silence as it should be. peanutz94
How are you measuring temperature? There is no software that can read those.
LordPingu
How are you measuring temperature? There is no software that can read those. I am assuming that because under stress tests the gpu reaches 70 + then the psu must be experiencing atleast 50-
MacNB
I am assuming that because under stress tests the gpu reaches 70 + then the psu must be experiencing atleast 50-60 Again...how are you measuring these temps ???? What is 50-60 degree temperature of ???? CPU ? Ambient ? PCH ? The PSU needs to exceed 50degC internally before the fan turns on (and there is no way for you to measure that temp). E.g. my system that is running Prime95 (small FFT test) for the last 12 hours and the all four cores of my i7-3770K are at a constant 89degC when clocked at 4.8Ghz but the my new AX760's fan has not turned on for the last 12 hours. When touched, it's case is not even warm...hence not turning the fan. So just because my CPU is at 89degC, does not mean that the PSU's fan should turn on if it's temp is less than 50degC.
