Socialite
Hey guys and gals, I had a question regarding my build. Currently I have a D5 Vario as my only pump for a setup that will include a 120x4 rad, 120x3 rad, cpu block, ram block and full cover 7970 block. I want to add a second 7970 and fear that the single D5 may not be enough plus having a little redundancy never hurt anything either. In doing research I am finding that the MCP355/MCP35x are better than the D5 in terms of flow and almost every other metric with the exception of noise levels. Would he addition of an MCP355 cause complications or would I be better off simply buying a second D5?
peanutz94
Really either way you want to do it would pretty much have the same outcome. It's either split your loop in two or add a second booster pump somewhere in the line.
Synthohol
honestly i would do a dual loop. cpu on one and gpu and ram on the other.
Socialite
I never really considered dual loops as I have a picture in my head of what I want this to look like when done, and splitting my components into dual loops would surely call for a complete overhaul. The new build will be the build that's under system specs with the exception of a second 7970 and I''ll be replacing my M5F with a M5E. All components will be placed inside a 900D that's currently on order from Amazon... My watercooling gear currently includes an EK Coolstream 480XT, EK Coolstream 360XT, Primochill 240mm CTR, EK 7970 block, x4 Dominator block, and HF supremacy cpu block. For those that suggested adding a second pump and splitting loops, what config and routing options would you suggest?
joejoe69
honestly i would do a dual loop. cpu on one and gpu and ram on the other. It would be pointless and messy to combine the GPU and RAM in a loop I'd go with dual or more GPUs on one pump, CPU and RAM on the other as RAM produces little to no heat. Water cooling RAM is overkill for most common PCs.
