xms3 and xmp

hello i have bought 8gb of CMX4GX3M2A1600C9. and i want to run it at it propper speed as its at 1333 but when ever i enable xmp. i get a funny black and gray spotty box on my screen. and the ram has gone back to 1333 when i check it. i have run memtest on each stick on there own. no errors. could this be a voltage issue as my mother board says by ram slots 1.5 volts and in xmp it 1.65 volts. both lots of ram are version 5.12 can any one help with this

Did you check if your msi z77a-gd65 BIOS is up to date?

As it Improve memory compatibility and system stability.

should of put that i have updated bios with 10.8. could get xmp to work on my old i5 2500k but for some reason it wont set on i5 3570k

Unfortunately , Corsair does not suggest or support mixing kit's like that because it can be hit or miss at best. Best bet would have been to just get a single matched kit.

 

I would enable XMP and make sure to set the voltage manually
