psu79
I'm building my first PC and now I'm stuck at PSU (only have case left). From everything I've been reading online, Corsair AX760 & AX860 (not i series) are crapshoots as to whether or not you get one with coil whine? For the price of these models, I would expect better quality. However, wouldn't Seasonic be to blame, as they are the ones that manufacture the actual PSU? Also, can anyone tell me which current Seasonic models are comparable to the two aforementioned Corsair models? Are either KM3? Here are all the models I have to choose from. I'm completely confused as to which one to buy (since they all have complaints about coil whine). I've read a ton of complaints regarding the AX860, which is the model I was going to get: Seasonic two models: X series 750 850 Platinum Series 760 860 Corsair AX series: AX750 AX760 AX850 AX860
crazymilk
I have the AX860 and it is absolutley perfect with ZERO whine. I think to label them with having an 'issue' is not right. If you get one and it has a whine (which is certainly possible with ANY make of PSU) then RMA it and get it replaced. I know first hand that the RMA service with Corsair is top notch so on the chance off you get one with a whine you have the confidence it will get sorted hassle free. Win win in my book
psu79
Thank you for the response. I did decide to go ahead with a Corsair purchase. However, there are four different models to choose from. Here's the parts that I currently have. Would 750-760 vs 850-860 make any difference in how often the fan spins up? Excited that the individually sleeved cables came out for the 760/860, yay!
