Just that I had a major freeze that required a hard restart now the usb part of my keyboard is not recognizable...I have tried everything I can find here to fix it and nothing works. I plug it in and the device managers says that the usb compliant device stopped working...I can't even get the firmware to update due to the fact it is basically dead...

Ok to be honest that is a that is not possible when you only have one machine...another reason is that other devices like this 10 dollar keyboard work in the same usb ports that my now paper weight K90 don't. I have a lot of usb ports both 3.0 and 2.0 12 in the back and 4 in the front, my k90 works in none of them but other devices like this keyboard my web cam my m90 mouse all work in any of the usb ports. Ohhh and before I forget I have restored to a previous date and I'll repeat the fact that I have done everything you people have suggested for any problem similar to mine to fix it.

Does the keyboard work in the system BIOS or with a windows startup/install disk or a MS DOS/windows 98 boot disk/bootable flash drive? (you may have to enable legacy USB support in the Bios for real mode DOS to work). At the very least it should work in the BIOS, or if you boot from the windows 7 or 8 install disk.
