Darkwing
hi, I bought this H100i 2 days ago and somehow it is making this very annoying sound, my wife thinks I am using a vacuum cleaner...... :(: how can I make it stop? any solutions? I read some other people experience the same issue. thanks
Copyright
Good Luck.. removing the fans off of the fan controller for now will help. They are going to be offering replacement PWM fans later on that are supposed to clear up the noise. Mine still made the noise even wtihout fans connected.. returned it and back to air cooling I went.. way quieter and my temps are almost identical. Darkwing
It made the noise without the fans? So that means even replacement fans won't solve it? I put the fans at high speed and it sounded like my pc was coming apart
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 15, 2013 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 15, 2013 What about in quiet mode?... and just to be clear, what kind of noise are you hearing? fan noise or pump? you've mentioned an annoying sound but did describe the noise nor where it is coming from. After trying to start Corsairlink2 for 12 times, it finally started. But when it did it somehow ramped up the fan speed to ludicrous and made an awful noise. I managed to put the fans in quiet mode, and this seemed to work. Unfortunately when I wanted to save the profile, sierra2 stopped working again. :[pouts: I guess that without this software working properly the problems will persist.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 19, 2013 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 19, 2013 Sorry about that. My suggestion is, if the cooler is keeping your CPU temp within reasonable range, hang on to the cooler for now and wait till we release the newer version so you can fully take advantage of the Corsair Link feature. Darkwing
Thanks! I wasn't planning to get rid of the cooler, half my pc is made from Corsair products and they perform excellent! Most issues will be fixed when the software works with win8 I guess.
