I need to know if the XMS 2 Dual Channel DDR 2 Memory Kit (TWIN2X2048-6400) is compatible with the following HP motherboard model : 09F0H.

The ram specs can be found here: TwinX Corsair Ram Kit

Here's the mobo specifications, showing also the specs of the currently installed ram by the manufacturer (Hewlett Packard).

If there is no compatibility, which ram should I buy instead?

I need 2 gigs of ram, best if 2 x 1 gb kits to allow dual channel

Yes, they would be compatible. However if you are planning on adding this to your existing set i would really suggest you purchase a matched 4 gig kit. The two sets(your existing) and the new set have totally different specs on them

There is no way Corsair can guarantee that these will run along with your existing set. Mixing/combining memory can be hit or miss at best.

Thanks for the answer!

Just one question (my curiosity): how can you say they would be compatibile :D: ?

It's based on the cpuz screenshots of the currently installed ram?

Which details exactly, if I may ask?

PS: I won't use the new ram along with the old ones: I'll be using only the new ones which will be more than enough :)

Well, I'm embarrassed to say I may have been wrong about this.

Usually you can go by basic system configurations. CPU/chipset and so on. Just because corsair doesn't have them listed doesn't mean they are not compatible. Just not tested. But in this case I believe the modules available today for that MB may be made from memory IC's that are too dense for that MB ...at least according to Intels white papers.

Looking at your CPUz screnshots shows you max speed would be 532mhz. Most systems would take faster memory and default to the slowest speed allowed by your MB which usually isn't a big deal. But these newer modules probably wouldn't be seen by the BIOS because of the IC's used to build them.

But, yeah, please let RamGuy put his thought to this before you buy them. But I'm thinking you may have a hard time finding memory for that MB unless you can find some older sticks laying around somewhere.

I apologize if I'm wrong in my first response!:o:

Hey BTW...Is this your thread? I was looking for more information and think i stumbled across it.:p:

Yes, that'is also my thread there in HP forums, but still didn't get any answer...

Don't worry about your answer; now I hope Ram Guy can solve this compatibily fact and suggest me if buy those Corsair or another product in case the first ones are not compatibile!

Edit: While waiting for Ram Guy arrival, I think I have found some other useful information. It's the HP Official Page for the desktop pc I'm going to do this ram updagrade: HP Compaq Business Desktop dc7600 Convertible Minitower PC

As shown in the specification table:

I think these can definitely help both you and Ram Guy in telling me if the chosen Twin X Corsair kit it's compatible, or, in case they're not in suggesting me a pair of compatible ones.

Maybe a pair of these 667 Mhz should be fine : Corsair 1.8 Volt 667 Mhz DDR2 Memory (VS1GB667D2) ?
