XCLx321H
Sirs: I seem to be having a OOM (Out of Memory Issue) in Game. I'm using a SATA 3 Force 480Gb Drive (Filled 80%). As instructed in your Optimizing SSD Boot Guide, I've changed the Paging File Size (Which might lead to this problem). Now I have found another remedy in which I can increase the size of the Desktop Heap (Which is a Registry Edit) What I would like to know is will this work, or is there another way around OOM's. And will this harm my Drives (SSD's) Thank You
Toasted
Increase the page file size, that should solve it. Close any programs that you are not using before starting your game.
XCLx321H
Sirs: Thank You for the Re-ply, It means a lot to me. First off I have 12Gb of RAM (3 DIMM Modules) on a 480Gb SSD, Actually I have "4" SSD drives, a 120Gb Boot Drive, a 120 free Drive, and a 240 SATA Force 2 Drive. All updated with the latest Firmware. What my question is, How much space should I put on the Virtual Memory and what Drive (SSD) ? Thank You for taking the time to read this... Toasted
I would run the game that gives you the Out of memory error for a few minutes and check Task Manager. Then put in a custom size. You can put the Page file into any drive.
XCLx321H
Sirs: Yet another Question. I have "4" SSD's (SSD #3 is Game [480Gb]) in Virtual Memory. My question is should I set "all" the SSD's to "System Manage" (Auto), "Custom Size" or leave the Drives at "No Paging Files" (Just changing the Boot Drive to System Manage)... Also, is the Registry Edit changing Desktop Heap advisable or NO... Thank You Again Sirs.....
Toasted
Select one drive of you choice and click "Custom Size", them enter the amount of Virtual memory you want. The other drive's can be set to "No Paging File". No, don't change the Desktop heap. According to Microsoft, the Out of Memory issue resolution which is desktop heap does not apply to Windows 7. XCLx321H
Sirs: Sorry to bother you again, But what I think is a Out of Available Memory Message has returned. It does not "Crash" with the Message. After 4 or 5 minutes in game it seems to make a "Phaseing Sound" (could it be a Hammer ?) After this happens I turn off the Machine (thinking it may harm it).. I have tryed to remedy with the above instruction's, I tryed System manage, Custom File, and No Paging File with all drives. Should I try running the Game till I recive the Message, or NO !! Also is their a sure fire way to rid my PC of the Out Of Memory problems ??? Thank You....

XCLx321H
Sirs: I have another rather small problem. While Secure Eraseing my 480GB Drive (SSD) with Parted Magic. The Drive (SSD) disappeared from Windows. It's not in "Computer" or "Disk Management". BUT it does appear in the BIOS and Parted Magic. How do I get the Drive (SSD), back into Windows. I hope you can follow this. Thank You.
Toasted
Did the secure erase process complete successfully? Have you tried secure erasing the drive again to see if it gets detected in Windows? It should be listed as an Unallocated drive in Disk Manager.
XCLx321H
I would like to Thank you again, I tried the Program again without using the Partition tool. And their it was, my drive. I had to Format it with windows own tool, but still the instruction you gave me worked. Thank you. Now if I could find a way to fix OOM's for good. Toasted
Re-seat the RAM modules and see if that helps.
