froglegs
I'm currently using a 212 EVO in a 550D case. The 550D is designed to run quietly with the sound dampening foam and all. The only problem is that it tends to run a bit warmer inside as a result. I ended up removing the top panel in the 550D to get better air flow (something I would like to avoid as it increases noise). If I swap out my 212 EVO for an H80i this will dump all the heat from the CPU directly out of the case correct? Would this have a significant impact on case temp as opposed to the 212 EVO? Any first hand experience or suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks
wytnyt
assuming your cpu is whats building all the heat, then yes the hydro will keep it cool but i doubt thats your only heat source since your running 2 vid cards so case fans with good airflow will also be needed

I'm thinking I could get a fan controller for the top two fans and when I'm not gaming, I can just turn them off and put the top on the case for silent operation. I have my 2700k OC'd to 4.6GHz now so it does generate a good amount of heat. I'm thinking I'll give the H80i a shot.
