Administrators Technobeard Posted February 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted February 9, 2013 It looks like the revision 2 of your board supports fast boot with Windows 8: http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/M5A97_EVO_R20/ http://www.youtube.com/embed/L1VrW_d3E-Y You can use something like https://www.soluto.com/ to analyze your boot speed, but that only looks at the Windows side of things. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your SSD.

Administrators Technobeard Posted February 9, 2013 Administrators Share Posted February 9, 2013 Soluto is a free program that can help you analyze what is loading in windows on startup. I mentioned the 2nd revision because those who are booting in 7-8 seconds may have a different motherboard with more advanced technology to allow a faster boot. Toasted
The people on the internet have probably modified their Windows and BIOS settings to achieve the fast boot time. Some motherboard's POST faster than others.

Toasted
Disconnect the any unused USB peripheral, HD and optical drives. Does the boot time change? If it doesn't, Does the HD L.E.D. stay solid? When it's on the "Starting Windows" screen?

Toasted
If the HD L.E.D. does not blink during booting, check the front panel cables just to be sure they are plugged in. If they are plugged in, and the HD L.E.D. does not blink. There might be something that is causing the delay. This is optional, backup your data and secure erase the drive with Parted magic, then reinstall Windows and see if it still takes a while to boot into Windows.
