zerosub
Hello all, first time posting here as I find it necessary to clarify the problem that I have... Build ATM MB: Gigabyte X79-UD3 RAM: G.Skilll 2133 16gigs quad channel CPU: 3930K Video: ATI 7770GHZ P/S: HX850 Case: Corsair 600T Cooler: H100I - Performance Mode - Pull Light is on / Pump is running at 2300 RPM I assembled my PC yesterday and was saddened by the temperatures I was getting from this cooler. I looked up numerous builds / reviews of this cooler and saw that under full load most got around 44C. In my position my CPU is sitting at 41-42C and under full load is hitting 74~ which is above the TCASE anyways. This is with no OC / with OC its above 85~ (Stuck looking at 42 not OC'ed) I have removed / reapplied thermal paste. I have re-positioned the cooler and with no success i'm here. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you Zero ---- Edit Changing the fans from silent to performance is not changing the temps
snfo
Add some washers to the back plate. It might help with the tightness.
zerosub
I'll right i will try that; basic gaming its hitting 52C
ChoPPerNZ
Hi sorry to see your having problems, i have the same cpu but ud7 mobo, its oced to 4200ghz my temps idle are 25-32 and 45-55c game load and its summer here. My radiater is in push config blowing out thru the top of my cm hafx case using as5 paste on the block, link software set to performance or balanced. zerosub
So what do you think is making my temps so high? I have the same type of setup Also whenever i stress test only one tube gets hot (coming from CPU) while the other always stays cold (coming from raidator) if that makes any difference
ChoPPerNZ
Add some washers to the back plate. It might help with the tightness. No backplate is used on the X79.
zerosub
right now its male to male and then the hand tied screw ons
ChoPPerNZ
How is it setup? Blowing into your case or out? Your room temp can make a big difference as well, ive tryed both configs and found the push setup gave me the best results, anyway 52c for gaming is ok for that case your using. zerosub
I'm not happy with my temps honestly since i want to oc soon; and haven't been able to because of this issue. its a corsair 600t attached to the top doing a pull but changing the fan speeds is not changing the temp (blowing out of my case) its 72F in my apartment atm. ChoPPerNZ
What is the idle temp please
zerosub
At this moment Idle is at 40-42 Load its 70+ ---- OC (not able to b/c of the temps) Idle is at 50+ Load its 80+ And as said before changing the fan's from silent to performance is not changing my temps x(
ChoPPerNZ
Can you try putting the fans the other way so they push through the radiator?
zerosub
I'll try that

ChoPPerNZ
Mmm sorry that didnt work, dont really know what else to try, perhaps reseating the block and make sure the paste is evenly spread over the cpu, tighten with a screw driver till just tightened. Also are the ud3 bios power saving features turned on?
zerosub
After the temps were unable to sustain overclocking i reset everything to default. I believe that it is on yes. I'm going to resit it one more time; this is honestly frustrating Thank you though.
ChoPPerNZ
No problem mate glad to help, i agree those temps should be similar to mine as we have almost the same setup, wonder what sort of difference the case makes? Mine has 4x200mm fans and a 140mm keeps everything nice and cool
zerosub
After re-sitting it as well push/pull switching the fans are still not changing the temperature Bios starts it off at 40C; right now its hovering in the low 40's is there anything else that could be effecting this except for a malfunction in the pump / radiator? ChoPPerNZ
Could be..is it making unusual sounds from the pump? Can i ask what software you use to measure temp?
ChoPPerNZ
I think those temps maybe normal for the Corsair 600T case your using checkout these links. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/2010/09/23/corsair-graphite-600t-review/2 Only highend air used here but not much difference between highend air and h100i anyway http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/cooling/49445-corsair-hydro-series-h100i/?page=4 This one is using your case and h100i
cemster
This sounds very fishy.. I would contact a tech about it. I have a 3930K & H100i I push them and in 'Quiet' mode I get around 34, 35C. Maybe your unit is faulty or something more serious?! So instead of guessing it, take it to the source.. Good luck.. Oops! I posted this message without refreshing the page so I didn't realized you had many more responses.. I took it where there where not many responses... :))
zerosub
Picture is linked; Temps are after running prime 95 for 2 minutes. This is with fans at max which doesn't make a difference. http://s9.postimage.org/5bn9wx0u3/image.jpg' alt='image.jpg'>

I plan to call corsair Monday. I checked to make it wasn't the power supply and it wasn't so I'm stuck with either the H100i and or the cpu which i doubt. Na there hasn't been that many responses; Like i said I'm trying to oc and have reasonable temps

ChoPPerNZ
Yes try getting a replacement..but after doing some reading it looks about right Google Corsair 600T h100i This guy has only an i5 oced and seeing close to 70c, a 6 core 3930k produces a lot more heat than the i5 and he has a 600T case and the fact that your room temp is fairly warm.
