Asus Motherboard Compatability

Hello,

I'm building 2 new systems and I would like to know if the following memory is compatible with these Asus boards. If not, what would be a suitable alternative?

I understand the Asus QVL is not a complete list of ALL compatible memory, but there are few 2x8GB modules from ANY manufacturer listed. Even the Corsair memory finder only recommends 4x4GB. I just need a bit of reassurance before I put my money down!

Asus P8Z77-V

Asus Maximus V Gene

CML16GX3M2A1600C9

CML16GX3M2A1600C10

Probably need the low profile for a non-stock fan.

Both will have the Intel Core i5 3570K fitted and run W7 64bit.

Thank you, I appreciate any help.

Dave.

Synthohol, Thanks for your suggestions.

There are no 1600Mhz 2x8GB low profile kits on those pages, only 4x4GB.

So is that suggesting the LP 2x8GB are not compatible?

I don't mind buying 4x4GB, just have seen recommended in this forum to get 2x8GB.

Thank you again for your help.

No, the 2x8gig LP would be totally compatible. So either of the kits you listed i your first post would be fine.

The only difference would be the C9 kit would be slightly faster than the C10 kit at the same frequency.

The Vengeance series was designed and tested around the Sandy/Ivybridge CPU's. So just about any of those kits offered in that line as well as the Dominator line as long as they are rated at 1.5v would be perfect for that board.

And if you are into overclocking or just like the design some of the Platinum kits would also run great!

Peanutz,

Thanks for the reply, that was the response I was hoping for!

Think I'll go for the 2x8 1600Mhz LP.

The Platinum kits look great, but my main concern is clearance for a non-stock heatsink/fan. Its a pity there's no QVL list for that!

Thanks again

We do not provide memory to any MB manufacturer to publish on their QVL List, and the memory they do have listed is just a list of modules that were tested. Just because a specific module is not on their list only means they did not test it... In most cases they will direct you back to us to verify compatibility
