darksparten
This is ridiculous, this happens with my replacement PSU as well as my original CX750. Basically at some random points the power supply starts making a random grinding/static noise from it's back grill, this doesn't seem to affect performance. also, it appears to be timed with the LEDs on the motherboard, although this isn't always the case. I recorded the sound but it was an AMR file, i can upload it if somebody tells me how to convert it.
peanutz94
If this is a replacement RMA already , contact CS with your previous RMA number and let them know of these problems. They should also pickup shipping both ways for you on second RMA's.
darksparten
Could it possibly be bad caps on the GPU, I've read somewhere that Sapphire's bad quality caps can cause noise(but i've never experienced the eponymous blackscreen/crash issues) Also I was told by customer service that on 2nd or 3rd RMAs I will get a free upgrade, I've read CX series are just rebrands and I'd like to upgrade to a TX650 or even HX series if possible, is this possible. Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 13, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 13, 2013 No that is not true but we will take care of the shipping. And there is no issue that I am aware of with the CX series so it sounds like it just has a bad fan.
darksparten
It's a crackling/buzzing noise that fluctuates randomly based on the amount of load. It definitely doesn't sound like the fan, and since this is the 2nd unit I doubt that it is the fan. Also based on your sticky about noise, it could also be the mobo or GPU, however I don't have any spares, how do i test if it's other components?
