TX750M Noise

Hi,

So I'm on my third TX750M now and the latest replacement (Thanks for the quick shipping!) has exactly the same problem as the second - the fan twitches slightly but never starts under furmark/games and makes a buzzing noise as it does this. It doesn't run at boot either.

I've noticed quite a few threads with the same problem.

After the first replacement I really should have accepted Amazon's refund and gone with another make ...

RMA #5535476

Phoned up, and was told I needed to speak to technical support - there was no response in over 10 minutes on hold. Eventually it dumped me into voicemail at which point I hung up.

I'll wait on your response here but I'm really not impressed.

I got the same experience.

However, I did not hang-up on the voicemail but left a clear message (name, phone #, case #, and details of the problem reported on the forum).

Within 10 minutes, I received an email from tech support stating "We apologize for any inconvenience you have encountered with your Corsair product. We have received & approved your online RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) request and will e-mail your confirmation RMA number along with return instructions within 24 hours."

So leave a message and they will respond. I guess a little patience is required.

Yep, it's really starting to annoy me now as switching power supplies takes a few hours because I have to tear down the whole case to access the media shelf (the only downside of modifying a PowerMac G5!)

Some may say I'm just being overly fussy, but I borrowed the TX750M (original fan always on version) my friend bought at the same time as me (I originally had the fan always on version too) and there's no buzzing, no grinding and no whine.

The noise is driving me mad as it happens most of the time when the PC is being actively used for anything but heavy gaming. Thanks to this PSU, the PC is quieter when playing something intensive like BF3 as the fan finally clicks and the buzzing stops.

There seem to be an awful lot of new threads appearing with the same problem

I'm awaiting a response from RAM GUY

Phoned up again yesterday and it's all sorted now - they're sending me a different unit out.

Just waiting on the paid postage label now

What are they sending you now ?

BTW, I still have not got my RMA number let alone paid postage label after the RMA was approved :[pouts:

Waited on the phone for 10 minutes..had to give up in the end

They offered me a HX750 originally, but it wouldn't fit in my case (180mm vs 160mm) so they made an allowance and are sending an AX760 instead.

I cannot fault the phone customer service at all

I've emailed the RMA department asking for a single postage label to send back both TX750Ms at the same time so I'll see what they say.

Fitted it now after a few hours (the joys of the PMac case) and it's all perfect.

There's coil whine when the PC is switched off but nothing I can't live with.

Received an email back saying both PSUs will have to be sent back as separate shipments but they completely avoided my question as to where the pre-paid labels have gone ... I'll ring up tomorrow.
