TheSmoker
Is there any manual/webpage/wiki/tutorial about how to configure the different parameters in Link 2 software. I am not being able to manage the fan curve based on temp. I have configured in the past mCubed TBalancer bigNG and now on a different system Aquacomputer Aquaero 5XT and did not had any issues ... but in this case the control is either not working or I really do not know how to do this ... Thanks in advance! CorsairLINK 2 version 2.2.0 Corsair Hydro USB version 2.0.0 Corsair H80i version 1.0.
TheSmoker
Also the HDD temperature are displayed totally wrong, see attachement. Aslo, what I've notted during stress testing (OCCT) the CPU temp will rise over 72 Celsius and start throttling down, while the H80i temp will not go above 34 Celsius. hopkins35
This may or may not help you, and I found it out by trial and error, the temperatures in the custom fan profile are based on the coolant temp (H80i temp 1) and not the CPU temp. TheSmoker
That's my understanding as well. It's not practical to have it by the CPU temp which can vary very much very quickly. In that case an additional parameter called hysteresys need to be added... but that's a story for other time ... and BTW I'm doing custom watercooling for more the 5 years now ... The thing is that give the coolant temp and fan parameters the fan RPM will NOT go down. Please see attached screenshot.
TheSmoker
Graphs from OCCT. Please not frequency & temp spikes.
hopkins35
I originally had my temp curve in the custom profile looking more like yours, by accident as this is my first watercooler and was thinking it was based on CPU temp rather than coolant, this temp curve did nothing and the fan RPM never seemed to change. I've now got a much smaller temp range 28-33 degrees (I think off to top of my head) 600 rpm@28 up to 2050@33 degrees which works perfectly. When my OCd 2600k hits 65-70 degrees the coolant is heading up past 31 degrees which is when my fans are set to hit 1600rpm and then increasing to 2050 as CPU temp hits and stays around 80 degrees. I had to do it this way as my link software (2.2 with early firmware 1.0??) stops reporting temps and RPMs when the coolant rises above 35 and the CPU 65 degrees even with logging turned on. I've checked using the ASrock software to make sure the processor isn't being thermal throttled and everything is fine so I guess the H80i struggles to report with both fans running 90-100% and the temp being so high. TheSmoker
At this point in time I will not say it's not supposed to be like this I will just ask: Corsair, how do i fix the mounting problem? Default backplate for 1155, screws tighten good but not hard, nothing else => poor contact. Tried an additional 3 mounts, result: the same - poor contact. Please let me know how to fix this! hopkins35
That thermal paste defo doesn't look right! On another thread they were talking about trouble with gigabyte boards and the large capacitors close to the socket impeding the mounting of the cooler http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=113741
TheSmoker
It's not the caps ... checked, doubled checked and triple checked ...
snfo
I have a Gigabyte and no problems with an H100i. Cpu Temp in Idle is almost the same as the H100i temp. Check if your backplate is mounted correctly. Fans are cooling the water and not the processor, so it makes sense that the fans are water temp controlled. But, if i'm not mistaken, you can add the fans to the cpu group under "groups" tab (default is H80i temp group) than they will be CPU temp controlled. TheSmoker
Can any from the Corsair support team tell me how I can fix the contact problem between H80i water block and CPU?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 8, 2013 Check the brackets/backplate and see if you can find anything that is bent. How are you tightening the thumb screws? make sure you do a X pattern when secure the pump. Do not over torque them, when screws stops, do not go any further. How are you tightening the thumb screws? make sure you do a X pattern when secure the pump. Do not over torque them, when screws stops, do not go any further. Double checked, crewed by hand in X pattern. Core 1 is the hottest going on 42-44C in BIOs while Core 3 & 4 goes as low as 31-33C. Had to disable TurboBoost in BIOS because when enabled (due to improper cooling) the CPU was throttling down, see the attachments from a few posts back. Any other pointers? TheSmoker
Blog post for Corsair LINK Corsair Link V2 Features and Functionality Note to the website guys, Functionality is spelt wrong in the title. Thanks Toasted for the link! One more question: how are the HDD temperatures displaying in your case? Because my Corsair LInk sees 2 hdds, shows them as power at first, and if I switch them to temp then it shows them as 114-115 C ... any ideeas? Toasted
That is the S.M.A.R.T. value from the HD. It's not the real temp.
TheSmoker
But that's easy to fix from what I have figured out ... All other monitoring software are showing the correct info. It's only a matter of unit conversion ...
Toasted
It'll probably be fixed in a future software update.
