tuner
Hello, I have just received the replacement for my h100i unit, I have sent the old faulty unit back to Corsair. The new unit has 1.0.4 firmware like the old one, and this annoying high pitch noise is still present. What do you suggest to do? RMA it again? Yock
Wait for when the fan replacements are released. Search a little around in the forum and you will find info about it from Ram Guy. In the meantime, if you want a quick fix and got a little extra money lying around then buy some new fans and it should fix the problem.
MacNB
or...just plug the H100i fans into the motherboard and let the BIOS manage them. If you only have a single CPU FAN connector, then you will a simple one-to-two (Y) splitter.
tuner
i have asus sabertooth 990fx, so the only way the motherboard is going to manage the fans, is the ones with 4 pin connectors, the h100i fans are only 3pin, so my options when i plug them in to motherboard is 100% fixed speed, or 50% fixed speed, no other managment is avalable

AlucarDx
RAM GUY could you compare your answer with another one posted by corsair employee in this post http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=115288 He said that new fans are not avaible yet. I just submitted RMA and waiting for reply.
Pudfark
I just submitted an RMA for the fans only, on a H100i. Got a case# and now waiting for a response. Clarification from a Corsair Employee on this issue would be appreciated. EDIT: 2/10/13 The LED light on my pump unit is now failing...now yellow/pink in color. RMA to be amended. remotehugger
I also submitted an rma - It says - "Let's have this unit replaced. Please follow the link in email with subject "RMA Advised" and complete the RMA process. Once completed, you will receive few more automated emails. Please reply to this case once you received those RMA confirmation emails. We will send you the replacement fans (PWM fans). You don't have to send anything back to us. " Although the link took me rite to the actual message with no where to put in a subject so i just replied using the form that was under the message - hopefully that was rite -
Croaker
First, let me say I love Corsair's Tech support staff, but when all else fails.. Call them direct. I have had better response talking to a guy on the other end of the phone than trying to play Automated Email Tag. Again Great folks and I will continue to do business with them because of the Tech Support Staff!
TwispF4
tuner - Go ahead and submit an RMA request and we will send you a new set of fans to take care of that high pitch noise. Just explain that you have an I series cooler you have this noise coming from the pump. Thanks RAM Guy for keeping the forum members up to date on what's going on with these stinkin fans. From a consumer who has dealt with a lot of garbage companies ignoring their customers, it really means a lot. Thanks so much! On a side note: will there be a new firmware update out soon for the h100i? According to my tests my pump works fine the only problem is with these fans. I began an RMA for the new ones today and I was wondering if it would even be beneficial at all to get a new firmware since mine still at 1.0.0 is working great, aside from these goofy fans causing loud noises. Thanks so much RAM Guy! My case # is 5609174 by the way.

TwispF4
TwispF4 - We've just sent you the instruction on how to get the fans. Please check your case #. Thanks RAM Guy. Filled out the page and all that jazz. Just wondering, does it matter that I don't have my Serial # and all that? I sent the piece of the box with that in for the mail in rebate I got with my cooler. TwispF4
I'm still waiting for an answer after submitted RMA. I don't have any case number or anything. Do I have to submit it again or just wait for answer. When you submit it you should be given a case #, but it will not show up under the "Find my RMA" Or whatever until they actually open the case and reply. Pudfark
Submitted yesterday RMA #5607469 Spoke to "John" a real nice guy. Asked about an advanced RMA and a Upgrade to an H110? Was told I would be called back on the phone by another person (supervisor) who would have to authorize it in approx. one hour. I never got the call. When their offices open this morning, I will call again. These are very nice folks and I do believe this is just an oversight. For the record. I don't want another H100i. Bobk141
I submitted an RMA last Friday for the rattling idle fans. I didn't received an email confirmation or case number via email. Monday I requested a case number/password via my email and Corsair's website. My case number is: 5607640. Checking the status online only showed the same RMA form I filled out friday with an option to submit or cancel. What kind of status is that? Today, I checked my RMA status and my password for my case changed! How did that happen when they are all generated for me? I also tried calling support but after holding for 10-15 minutes was directed to a voice mail. If I have to return the entire h100i unit just to get the new fans or firmware...I will seriously think about just exiting this Corsair game and finding a new cooling solution. Finding and installing a temporary cooling solution while I send a defective unit seems nuts to me. Please help!
Pudfark
Update: I just got off the phone with "Joanne" at Corsair, another very nice person. An Advanced RMA has been approved and return postage to be paid by Corsair. Corsair will accept an exchange, with the customer paying the difference between the H100i and the H110. My H110 is now enroute to me. Thank You John and Joanne your assistance was professional, courteous and kept me as a future Corsair Customer. I hope others find this information useful and helpful.
