tawayr
My newly bought h100i came with the 1.0.4 firmware. I like how cool it keeps my CPU with low RPM fanspeeds BUT I have the high pitch whine/buzzing. There is no buzz/whine when I unplug the fans from the h100i. As far as I have understood this whine starts with the 1.0.4 firmware and the problem are the fans. My questions are: 1) Will the new yet released firmware fix the whine/buzz since it was only there until 1.0.4 firmware came out? 2) I've read about a temporary fix of plugging the fans into the motherboard instead of the h100i, but where exactly do I plug the fans on the motherboard. 4-pin sys-fan slot? And if I do so, am I able to control the fanspeed with software? RMA-ing is not an option for me, I rather replace something before I RMA. Thanks. peanutz94
1)Yes, supposedly it is going to address that issue. 2) Any fan header on the MB would be fine. And yes, you should be able to control them with the software that cam with your MB or any other software that will let you.
ez12a
most 4 pin headers on your motherboard are controllable with software like Speedfan or the motherboard utilities found on their website. Fans like Aux or Sys_FAN which are usually 3 pin are not controllable.

If you don't already have the fans set to balanced try that, any noise I had went away when I did this. I would delete your current software and download the newest version.
