Happy with the h100i but...

My newly bought h100i came with the 1.0.4 firmware. I like how cool it keeps my CPU with low RPM fanspeeds BUT I have the high pitch whine/buzzing. There is no buzz/whine when I unplug the fans from the h100i.

As far as I have understood this whine starts with the 1.0.4 firmware and the problem are the fans. My questions are:

1) Will the new yet released firmware fix the whine/buzz since it was only there until 1.0.4 firmware came out?

2) I've read about a temporary fix of plugging the fans into the motherboard instead of the h100i, but where exactly do I plug the fans on the motherboard. 4-pin sys-fan slot? And if I do so, am I able to control the fanspeed with software?

RMA-ing is not an option for me, I rather replace something before I RMA.

Thanks.

If you don't already have the fans set to balanced try that, any noise I had went away when I did this. I would delete your current software and download the newest version.
