BrainScan
I am getting an annoying hum coming from my new h100i pump. The noise persists even after detaching all the fans so it seems to be something different than the fan issue others have been experiencing. My unit came with firmware 1.0.4 out of the box. Could that have something to do with it? Also, earlier the Link software went crazy with the fans periodically flashing red and spinning up and down over and over again. It seems to have recovered from that particular behavior though.
peanutz94
It could very well be related to the FW. Corsair has announced that they will be releasing a new FW in the next few weeks, so you might want to hold of on replacing it until then. But if you can't i completely understand. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2013 It is not uncommon to have some sort of noise coming from the pump specially first time installing it, give it some time to break in and see if that changes. Is the humming sound really loud? Check your pump's rpm in the BIOS and see if it's running around 2000rpm.
BrainScan
Its a humming/buzzing sound that is higher pitched than the sound from my fans. I'd say it sounds similar to a cheap power supply hum. I can clearly hear it over the fans at idle temps. I'm also fairly certain that the sound wasn't there when I first installed the unit. I remember putting my ear up to the pump and thinking how silent it was. The bios reads the pump RPM at about 2250. Temp wise, at stock speeds, my CPU is getting up to 53c after 5 minutes of intel burn test. Ambient temp is about 20c. Does that seem normal for this cooler? BrainScan
I have sent you all instructions on how to order the fans for free to fix the noise issue. Hi RAM GUY, The case number you sent me via PM (RMA #5630713) seems to belong to someone else. Either that or I am doing something wrong trying to look it up. That said, I stated above that my H100i noise issue persists even if I unplug the fans from the pump. I am happy to try the new fans and firmware to see if that resolves the issue, but my understanding was that my issue was unrelated. Please advise. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 12, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 12, 2013 Looks like the fans have been shipped out under that RMA #. If that is not yours, you can always re submit the request and we will get them processed for you.
