john909
Hello. I wanted to ask whether a second hand PSU would have a degraded performance.I am not speaking of some months use but of some years (over 3). Also in the product information of this PSU I read of 5 years warranty. http://www.corsair.com/professional-series-hx1000-80-plus-certified-modular-power-supply.html But in the warranty info I read this: Professional Series / HX Series™ PSUs have a 7 year warranty What is valid from both? 5 years or 7 years? Thank you very much.
peanutz94
Sorry, the warranty is only good for the original purchaser and are non transferable. But to answer your original question...even after three years of use they should not degrade much if at all. PSU's built today are not like the PSU's of days gone by where you need to be conscerned with degraded power.

peanutz94
Yes, the new series of HX PSU's are seven years. The HX1000 was an older model that only has 5 years on it. http://www.corsair.com/professional-series-hx1000-80-plus-certified-modular-power-supply.html http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007 Power Supplies Professional Series™ Gold / AX Series™ PSUs have a 7 year warranty Professional Series / HX Series™ PSUs have a 7 year warranty Enthusiast Series™ / TX Series™ PSUs have a 5 year warranty Gaming Series™ / GS Series™ PSUs have a 3 year warranty Builder Series™ / CX Series™ PSUs have a 3 year warranty HX Series (Models HX520W, HX620, and HX1000) have a 5 year warranty Enthusiast Series™ (Models VX450, and VX550) have a 5 year warranty VS Series™ PSUs have a 3 year warranty
john909
Ok thanks for clearing this out. I now am on a TX-650 and would like to know how can I find if it will support 2 x ATI Radeon 6870 on crossfire along with the rest of my system or if I need to buy another "stronger" PSU and at what W? Also where can I find the exact A values per Voltage line of Corsair PSU?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 12, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 12, 2013 Each card will pull about 230watts under load (you'll probably never see under regular use) so that leaves you a very limited headroom between the rest of the components, this will also depend if your system is overclock which require more power for the CPU and MB. Best is to have at least 850watts or higher.
