tidyboyd
Bought the H100 6 months ago and its been fine with the stock fans, loud but fine. Changed to 2 Noctua NF-F12 PWM 1500RPM 2 days ago and only one fan works. Things I have done: -Reset the pump firmware as in the sticked post here: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=99361 thought it solved the problem as they both did seem to work just fine for one boot up, ever since turning off the comp and then back on again only one fan works all the time. -Swapped the fan connections around, this now stops the opposite fan on the other side. -Clicked the button to change the tempo of the fans, still only one moves -Ran Prime95 to stress the CPU out and increase the temps to see if that was the problem, still only one works. -Tried re-seating the fan connection numerous times Both fans are fine and work happily when connections are swapped over, for some reason just not in tandem. Also just to note I am not able to access my BIOS just in case any solutions involve this, I'm waiting for Asus to get back to me with a resolution on that one, motherboard is absolutely fine though and has been running both H100 + stock fans fine for weeks Any helps greatly appreciated Edit: I should also note that when resetting the H100 after the 5 second press down (the first button press) the second fan spins quickly like its on but loses power immediately and comes to a stop
Arctic_Wolf
Some H100's often ran into this issue with some after market fans, such as the Noctua's for example. The different voltages required messed with the H100. You didn't make it very clear if you have now removed the Noctua's, and put the stock fans back on. If you haven't put the stock fans back on, try doing so, and then reset your firmware. If you want to continue to run the Noctua's, you may find you'll have to obtain a separate fan controller, or use your MB's fan headers, and if applicable/capable, program them to adjust RPM vs CPU temps. tidyboyd
Thanks for the replys, so this is a common problem with other fans? Thats a bloody nightmare as the stock ones are loud as hell and I've just spent 60Euro on these I've kept the Noctua ones on but only one is on as I type which isn't what I was after I tried to look at your RMA ticket via startpage.com campires but for some reason it shows me an invalid page. I would like to see what was written there so if you can post a working link I would be appreciative Obviously I want my new fans on as the computer is keeping my girlfriend awake during the night so what can I do about it? I cant get into the BIOS to alter the fan settings and nearly all the other motherboard fan sockets are in use with other fans. Is this an RMA job as I really don't feel like I should be spending more money on other bits when this should work just fine. I'm also in desperate need of my computer right now and I dont own a credit card (for RMA purposes) so if someone can let me know any tips; tricks or solutions to this problem you'd have my gratitude

tidyboyd
apparently the h100 is having trouble controlling these fans, have you tried running them from your aisuite? also why is it you cant get into bios? aisuite? could you enlighten me on that one as I just pretty much plugged and played and the BIOS needs updating for me to actually get into the BIOS but I'm having a little difficulty sorting that out due to me not being able to set the load order to boot from a usb. I would normally set the load order in the BIOS and save the new BIOS on the flash drive. Asus's desktop program (I forget the name) wont work with this particular board (or possibly just newer Asus boards) any idea on that front? I do remember taking my comp apart and putting it all back together and plugging in the fans into the motherboard and they were awful slow with no increase or decrease based on CPU temps so they went back into the controller
Toasted
You can get AI Suite from here http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8H77V/#support_Download_30 Refer to your Motherboard's user manual to get in to the BIOS and updating it.

Thanks for that Toasted the problem is for some unknown reason the AI suite wont install on my computer it just keeps coming up with a "Asus Suite has stopped working" message with no explanation of why. Can I ask will I get a reply from a corsair rep on here or do I have to contact them separate and link them to the thread?
Toasted
Latest BIOS? Have you tried reinstalling the program? Have you tried run the program as admin? Alternatively, you can buy a cheap fan controller and plug the Noctua fans to control the fan speeds. When a Corsair rep sees this post, they may reply. tidyboyd
Ok cheers for that. The board doesn't contain the latest BIOS and thats why im trying to flash it and yes I've tried everything to run the program even run virtual box in 32bit mode where it worked fine. I think my only option is to install windows onto another hard drive, boot up with that and see if a program on my current HDD is causing the error. Failing that I'm a bit stuck I think
tidyboyd
Ive just checked my fans again and for some reason on this boot up they seem to be working fine, why would this problem be intermittent? The fans seem fine and they both work well independently, any thoughs?
Arctic_Wolf
Did the procedure of flashing your BIOS somehow not complete correctly or fail? If so, and/or it has somehow become corrupted, with ASUS boards I've had in the past, simply place your ASUS MB driver CD/DVD into your optical drive, and it will flash your BIOS to the version contained on the disc. This may allow you to regain access to your BIOS. Then, you can flash it later or do what you like accordingly. AI Suite probably would fail to work, hang, or crash if there are currently issues with your BIOS.

Toasted
@tidyboyd I'd highly suggest you read your motherboard's user manual before attempting to flash the BIOS. There should be a method of moving the BIOS update file to a USB an so on...
