cassiopeia
Hi, I have an ASUS P8Z77V-Deluxe PC with the Corsair Obsidian 650DW-1 case. I was transferring about 200GB of files from the 2nd internal drive to a HD connected to an external eSATA docking station at about 120 mb/sec when I decided to cancel the transfer and connect the HD to the Corsair 650DW-1 case top SATA docking port thinking I would at least double the data transfer speed.. The docking port is connected directly to the mobo's SATA port. However the transfer started at about 120 mb/sec and stabilized at 46 mb/sec, about a third of what I was getting with eSATA!!! Shouldn't the SATA speed be 3 to 6 GB/sec? What's going on?

cassiopeia
What was the Model number of the drive and what port on the MB did you have the External port connected to? The 2nd internal drive is a WD 2TB Black, the external drive is a WD 3TB red, the 650 case external port is connected to the mobo's Intel SATA 3GB/s port.
