garryrw
Hi I just wanted to ask someone if this corsair link 2 software is supposed to work with windows 7,it is just that with my corsair H80i I had problems with windows 8 when it come to safely ejecting a portable harddrive,I kept getting this message every time I went to eject the haddrive ( the device is currently in use please close any programs or windows that might be using the device and try again) After reading on these forums I read that corsair link 2 doesn't yet support windows 8,which is why I reinstalled windows 7 yesterday to hopefully get full compatibility with the corsair link 2 software. The trouble is even running windows 7 64 bit I am still getting the same message when I try to eject my usb 3 portable harddrive ( the device is currently in use please close any programs or windows that might be using the device and try again) Could I get some advice from someone or maybe even someone from corsair to what might be causing this problem I have with windows 7 and windows 8,and can it be fixed somehow. My system is a z77 motherboard with a 3770k cpu,I have the H80i installed properly with the usb lead plugged into the usb header on the motherboard. Toasted
A new software update may fix it. Alternatively you can create two batch files to stop/start the service for now.

Alternatively you can create two batch files to stop/start the service for now. when you refer to batch files or bat files as ive always called them, most here are probably lost on how to create one.perhaps a example of one would be helpful.last ones i made was in '87 so as of now im in the lost line:D:
Toasted
This should work. If you get the System 5 error Access is denied, Run it as admin. Save it to Notepad and save it as Stop.bat @echo off net stop Sierra2Service pause Start.Bat @echo off net start Sierra2Service pause
johnstrasser
I just saw this thread and was about to post that I was having the exact same issue. In my case (see specs) I went all the way back to a clean install of Win7x64 and Corsair Link was the culprit. This was just the 1st chance I had to post. Thanks for the batch files. I'll test them out later tonight. Haven't run into the Safe Mode issue yet. I'll give that a test too. I'm assuming the "Sierra2" Service is what CL uses to talk to the USB? And I'm using CL version 2.2.

wytnyt
::bump:: Does anyone know if the latest fix resolves this problem? i can only assume it has fixed ejection issues as since its release i havent seen any problems on the board regarding this issue. it works on win7 and now also on win8
