pgmerovingian
Sadly, for the second time my 1500 headset has a broken cable, the first time where the cable joins the volume control it produced an intermittent fault so it cost me €15 euros to send it back to holland where they were replaced for a new pair. Today I just bent over whilst seated to pick up an object and the cable just ripped out from the same place as before, ok, obviously there was a sudden shock as the cable caught on something on the desk, but if they were solid enough the headset would have flexed or left my head like Logitechs would with their sturdy cable It's fairly clear to me that the way the cable is attached to the volume control is of a poor quality or design, it needs a proper clamp or even glued in! I wonder how many similar cases of this arise, what a pity as I am very happy with them otherwise! I invite your comments please?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2013 The cable is very long and sleeved and you admitted it was caught on something which meant you were probably bending quick enough to not notice and pulled it right out. The cable is not that easy to rip out as you're implying. No cable design for a headset can withstand a large amount of force on it as you have exerted if the cable was taut from being caught on something. Fair comment sir, however having inspected the narrowing of the sleeve as the only way of holding the cable in the housing, the absence of a clamp or clip a weak point has been created. If I had exercised a large force, either the headset would have been pulled off my head or the cable itself would have snapped and not simply been dislodged. Please regard my comments as a way for you to improve what is ostensibly an excellent product!
