squeak
Hi, I never had issues with the SSD after reinstalling Windows 7 around Mar 2012 last year. In Nov 2012 I started getting sudden BSODs and tried to upgrade the firmware to v5.0x. However I was not successful as the firmware tool is unable to detect the drive when I changed the SATA controller to AHCI and hence left it as IDE. Just 2 days back I upgraded to Windows 8 and the next day I get DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. Thereafter, automatic repairs kicked in and system restore was done too but I am unable to start up windows. Is there anyway to upgrade the firmware using another laptop?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2013 Yes search for how to make a Windows Live CD/DVD and boot the system with that then update the firmware. Or add it to another system as a second drive. Just make sure it is running in AHCI mode or it will never do the update.
