Xaeos
Hello all. The lady in my life needs a new PC chassis and I've been considering, the C70 as a good fit for her needs. It needs to be large enough and have sufficient cooling potential for a decent mid-range gaming system with room for potential expansion as necessary, for instance. However, what I really wanted to do to make it special is to paint it her favorite color, purple (ideally, a nice deep rich violet), and perhaps see stick a nice custom applique of some sort or two aboard. Thus, I wanted to ask the forum a few questions. First of all, I take it that choosing the white C70 would probably be the best option for this endeavor? I had considered painting all the "white areas" (by hand) on the C70 purple, and figured that it would be easier (?) to get the color applied on a light background as compared to the black version. Or will it matter at all? Next, I am very interested in the texture and materials of the C70? From what I see printed, it appears the entire C70, including the "decorative" element, is made of steel, is that correct? (as opposed to say, the ABS accents on the Graphite series etc..)? I am trying to figure out if the C70 would need sanding (or truly, if sanding would even be a good idea! Not so much if the thing is plastic) and thus what kind of paint to acquire. Finally, if anyone had any suggestions for a good supplier of the proper paint types, and/or general tips for the project, I'd be appreciative. Thanks! jlhawn
I have the C70 in military green, the entire case is metal. the paint feels too me like a powder coat but I could be wrong. if I was too paint it I would just rub it out a little with a fine scotch bright pad and not sandpaper then just use a good quaility spray paint. and don't forget after rubbing it out too clean it. also if you look at my profile you can see my window mod I did for about $22.
