thebrain2u
I picked up a pair of 2000s a week ago and love the comfort, but I've been getting a lot of interference with my Wi-Fi. Often times after a few minutes or so, my wifi will get disconnected. Upon turning off my headset, my W-Fi will visibly auto-reconnect, and then I can turn on my headset on again. Is there something I can do to remedy this?
Toasted
Use the extension cable included with the headset and see if that helps. Is the modem/router near the dongle?
thebrain2u
Hello, Toasted, thanks for the reply. Just tried it with the extension cable, it actually makes it worse and turned my voice into the DROID commercials. The my wifi adapter is a good amount of distance away from the dongle, about 5-8ft. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 28, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 28, 2013 The headset does have automatic channel switching to avoid interference with other 2.4ghz devices. Have you tried enabling this with your router? As for the extension cable issue, that shouldn't occur as the distance added should not degrade the quality of transmission. Are you using the latest drivers for your USB ports?
thebrain2u
Hey RAM GUY, My router is already set to auto channel switching and I am indeed using the latest drivers for my USB ports. I tried the headset again and it is indeed still causing interference with my wifi. PS: I have another problem with the mic. I understand that muting the mic is done by putting the mic in the fully up right position. However, when I raise the mic even just one click above being right in front of my mouth, the mic mutes right away. is that normal?
Toasted
The mic should be automatically mute when its near the upright position. It's not normal if the mic mutes right in front of your mouth. I'd suggest you contact your seller and ask if they can replace the headset for you. if not, request an RMA to replace it.
