AF 120s mounting issue

I have run into a problem trying to mount AF 120 fans. It is the damn screws.

Trying to screw them in is next to impossible. The screws bind on the rubber grommet and begin to strip with the amount of pressure I had to use to screw them down. I haven't seen anyone bring up this issue am I the only one with this issue?

Are you using the screws provided with the case or the ones provided with the fan? The ones provided with my 550d are different from the ones provided with the fan itself. I used the screws that came with the 550d and I have no problems. Compare the two and see if one is shorter than the other.

I got the same darn problem. The screwholes are way to narrow. I even exidently broke one screw hole and i was very very carefull. I realy hate this type off screw-holes. Normaly i won't have any trouble with mounting fans on the case, but this is annoying. Still trying to mount it properly without "screwing" it up.

The provided "normal type" fan screws are a pain, the pattern are so deep.

I always use rubber grommets now or anything to shorten the screws.

Problem i had at the beginning was that the screw got stuck in the harder black part and then got ripped off the softer grey rubber.

So now with some grommets and being careful not to screw to hard i haven't had any troubles.

Ps. the 550d fan screws are awsome.
