tabby051
At the moment I currently run 12GB of the Corsair Vengeance RAM (1600), I have it 2x4GB and 2x2GB. So far I have had no problems and still don't. I recently upgraded my mother board to the MSI Z77A-GD65 and run a 2500k at 4.3GHz, I have to manually set the RAM to 1600MHz, my question is; Is it better if I buy another 2x4GB kit of the same brand and what not or just replace the entire RAM with a 16GB kit (haven't really got money to afford this and probably won't)? Like I said I run with no problems with the RAM but it has come to my attention about RAM even though being the same make/part number etc is not ideal. I've been meaning to get another 2x4GB kit anyway to make it 16GB but want to know if this is the right thing to do?
1BadK10
From what i've read and heard, it's never a good thing to mix RAM. I would recommend buying a single complete kit.

Ok, I have took out the 4GB set so I'm rocking 8GB for now, should be more than efficient and when I get more money I'll buy a 16GB kit module
1BadK10
May i ask what you use your computer for? 8GB may be more then enough for basic computing and/or gaming.

I use it for mainly 3D program's like Maya/mudbox/photoshop etc so the more ram the better, obviously I'd love 32gb but a its pointless and b way too expensive, even the 16gb kit is expensive but if I Manage to sell the ones I have I should be able to buy some 16gb kit, 12gb was running fine to be honest and never had a problem with those program's or games. Games at the moment will run more than fine with 8gb, it'll be a while before you need more to fulfil the requirement
