From where do I download the firmware for my H100i?

Hello Everyone,

I just purchased yesterday the new H100i and I must say I’m really disappointed/upset since I’ve been faced with several problems (but I’m only going to focus on one problem at a time).

1st the fan are making a rattling sound, now from checking some online reviews from what I understand this is solved by updating the firmware on the H100i.

So I downloaded from Corsair website the CorsairLink 2.2.0 software and then went to options where I am able to do the Firmware update (by the way for Firmware it show 1.0.0 as current Version). Anyways, when I attempt to do the firmware update I see two options, one is COMMANDER and the other is H80/H100. I selected the H80/H100 option but no firmware files downloads… It seems like I have to first download the firmware file…

First question:

Where exactly can I download the latest firmware for my H100i to make the fans stop rattling/noisy?? I have looked for it everywhere and cant find it!

Thank you for your hep!

The thread referenced by corsair employee's has been deleted and their FAQ on firmware updating the h100i says the link is supposed to be in the download section of the product, which it isn't.

Some people have reportedly bricked their h100i using the 1.0.4 firmware, which is probably why they removed it. Also new devices ship with 1.0.5 now. Mine has 1.0.0 :(

the only solution 4 u both ist to change the fans , I installed 2 from be quiet 2200 rpm and of course no noise at all , and do not search for this **** update it will give u a new high pitch sound like everyone updated his unit.. or just rma this product and do not buy anything from corsair again, they just removed everything about the noise problem and ignored the costumers and now they r trying to convince us with fake costumers that these problems doesnt exist ..

BNM...Is your unit working okay? If it is, it recommended to NOT update the FW. You should only need to worry about it if it is not working correctly. If that's the case then i would suggest requesting an RMA so you get a unit with the new 1.0,05 FW. But the original 1.0.0 version was the most stable out of the bunch.

@CommanderM,they removed the FW for the time being because of some unintended issues. I know they are working on a fix, just no ETA as of yet. I know that is of little help , but that's all I got at the moment.

It "works" but it is incredibly loud (even when the fans aren't at full rpm) and there's a rattling sound, like a 10 year old harddisk frantically seeking on a fragmented partition coming from both fans. And I don't think either fan is "damaged", I think it's a controller issue.

Frankly, it's so loud I'm not even using the system I put together around the h100i and keeping my GTX 670 in my old machine.

Here is the workaround// The issue is with the fan controller on the H100i located on the pump... That's what is making the fans rattle/grind...

I connected my fans directly to my fan controller and problem solved... No more noisy fans! Before we can update firmware (whenever it gets released) or get our units RMA'd, then either connect fans to fan controller or directly to a fan header on the motherboard...

For me even the fans plugged on my fan controller or on the motherboard they are still loud and make noise on low, med and high.

That's correct. I've bought H100i with 1.0.4 firmware and i have this annoying sound.

It stops when I connect fans to case rpm control system but they are louder then my Thermalright archon. Sad but true.

That annoying sound that you guys are getting are going to be resolve by a new set of fans that we will be releasing in the following weeks. If the cooler is working as intended (cooling part), hang to your cooler for now and we will get them fixed. A little more patience guys and soon enough we'll have this resolved.

I just got my h100i the other day, and it's bugging me and my SO quite alot :/

i'm just wondering, how will the fans be exchanged? will we get new ones for free?

Guys, when the fans do become available they will set up a procedure to follow to get them replaced. Where you live in the world would make no difference at all. Corsair will honor those replacements no matter where you live.

Now it's just a matter of time. All they are saying is that it will be in the next few weeks, but no given or set date for the release.

I just got the h100i too and could not find the new firmware and did followed the same procedure as the thread starter. Mine has version 1.0.0. So from this thread it looks like I am stuck with this until Cosair release the firmware? This is messed up as I did not get the one with the 1.0.5 firmware :( Does anyone know where else to get the firmware?

Don't worry mate....Corsair is working on releasing new firmware which will fix everything, everywhere, everytime, everyone....in no time...lol.

We are (at least I am) reading all that since December 2012 and now they keep saying "in a few weeks".

If you want i may give the firmware 1.0.4 to you as I have it but trust me...it is really better you stay with 1.0.0 and hope that gurus here are saying the truth.

In real fact...CL2 is full of bugs...leds..pump...usb issues...fans noise...high temps....sierra has to be restarted if you put your pc in standby.....conflicts with other drivers....and so on. They keep saying a lot of words but at the end of the story CL it is a big mess and the product its self does not match what they advertised.

Keep hoping man....maybe one day....

Are you having problems with the cooler? If you are not, then there is no reason to flash the cooler to 1.04 or 1.05.

Only a few issues since i've bought it:

- red led does not works anymore after flashed with 1.0.4

- usb sometimes does not recognize CL ...must restarting pc till it fix it. (not worthing to change header, it does not solve anything and may mess it up more)

- if you put the system in standby, when waking it up you must restart CL or it will be freezed and fans will not follow settings

- CL create a few random problems in the system like 2nd HDD not recognized unless restarting pc till is ok, some usb devices not recognized unless restarting till is ok.

- CL cause bluescreen when it mess everything up too much (happened twice since december 2012)

I read this forum now only a couple of time a week as i don't want to waste my time waiting for bull****s that are said since I've flashed with 1.0.4 firmware to solve my problems...lol

I also saw that the brand new 110 is coming out with something like 1,xx of air pressure and 94cfm...all against 2 months of useless words said by people apparently appointed by Corsair to reply in this forum.

We bought that Cooler.....we have lot of problems and you just keep talking about none here in forum instead of solve problems that im sure most of customers have.

I heard "new frimware will be available soon...in a few days" since december 2012....

Really disappointed on how Corsair is handling this huge problem because huge it is and to me I certainly won't buy any of your products ever again.

Conte,

I am with you.. I have had mine since Nov 2012...with very noisy fans even on low speed...now the pump is making grindng /gurggling noises...LED's have stopped working...etc, etc.

However, I am getting around the around the problems...plugging the fans into the motherboard and letting the BIOS manage them. Still noisy at 1200 rpm but way better than the pump managing them. LED's I can live without. The pump noise is now worrying me as the temps seen to rising but will persevere until a fix is available as I need my system.

But we need to give Corsair a chance to come up with a working solution.

They have three things to fix in my opinion:

  1. The fans. Clearly need replacing. They need to be proper PWM. They need to be fit for purpose.
  2. They need to replace the controller h/w & s/w on the pump unit. Clearly the way it is designed today does not allow it to manage the fans properly or are the LED's reliable or provide a dedicated USB device interface (not a cluedgy HID).
  3. They need to re-write CL s/w..it's totally unreliable and and seems to be designed by someone with basic or very little windows internal knowledge.

In my past professional role and experience in managing technology products, that list will require a lot of work to fix. They will need to take one of their own fans and try to modify them to work the pump controller. They will try to modify the pump controller - but's an expensive so will focus on a workaround with firmware. The CL is a major re-write.

So knowing what's involved, I am giving them the benefit of doubt and being patient. Hang in there.

I do have the same issues as other people here which include: loud fan noise, CL software some time does not recognize the usb link, I can't change the fan speed with the CL.

I was hoping the new firmware would fix the issue.

All issues that are currently being reported are being accounted for. We may have to provide different ways to solve a specific issue. All I know for now is the high pitch/buzzing sound coming from the pump are being fixed by the PWM fans that are going to be available very soon.

Not sure if this has been asked before... These new PWM fans that are mentioned. How are they going to be made available? Do we need to purchase them? Will they be sent out as requested? Or will we need to RMA the entire unit?

It will be a real shame if we need to remove the entire cooler and return it... I for one would be without a running system during that time..
