doassimonsays
Hi there! I'd like to explain the problem that i got with this memory. I bought last month an Asus p8h77i mobo and an I5-3470 3.2Ghz. I choose this memory, thinking that it was compatible. So if you go in this link http://www.corsair.com/it/support/technicalsupport/ you can see that it's compatible. But,right now,i can only use my computer with one module (8Gb) because when i puth both modules (16 Gb) on the mobo the bios does'n start. The mobo and the single modules perfectly work, bios is updated. The problems start when i try to use modules together. Any suggestion? Thank you for your support. peanutz94
Are you using the XMP profile. If not please check your manual on how to enable XMP in your BIOS. If that does not work then please test each stick in the first slot with memtest86+ in the first slot. Let each module run for about three passes or until you get an error. Let us know how you make out.

peanutz94
At this point it would point towards a problem with the MB or RAM slot itself. I would contact ASUS and see what they have to say.
doassimonsays
At this point it would point towards a problem with the MB or RAM slot itself. I would contact ASUS and see what they have to say. In this moment i'm in contact with Asus and from the first time i wrote them they talk about compatibility problem. They suggest me to change RAM (they gave me links of other 2 brands which are compatibles). It seems so weird this situation:both slots perfectly works but only with one module (i changed modules and slots for being sure that it was not a mobo problem). The only doubt that i got is Bios:even if it's updated Asus ain't got any 16GB ram modules in the list of the qualified vendors for the p8h77i. So i directly ask you if you confirm that this mobo and this ram are compatible or not. Regards
peanutz94
So i directly ask you if you confirm that this mobo and this ram are compatible or not. Yes, they (Vengeance series) would be compatible. The vengeance series in general was designed for the Sandy/Ivybridge CPU's Just because a certain set does not appear on ASUS QVL does not mean they are not compatible. The only doubt that i got is Bios:even if it's updated Asus ain't got any 16GB ram modules in the list of the qualified vendors for the p8h77i. QVL are just a list of modules that were tested with that MB. They never update those QVL either and with so may different memory manufacturers and kits available it would be impossible to test them all. However BIOS updates often add improved memory compatibility...definitely worth a shot if you have never updated it before. But, I'm starting to think you are limited to 4 gig modules. I tried looking for that information in Intels white papers and chipset specs, but couldn't find it....still looking and I will update you if i find definitive information. But that may be something to ask ASUS too. If 8 gig modules are possible. Optimized for Compatibility with the Latest CPUs and Motherboards Quote from the product page: Vengeance memory is designed specifically for the latest CPUs. Vengeance modules are available in 1.65, 1.5V, and 1.35V configurations for maximum compatibility with all Intel® Core™ i3, i5 and i7 processors, as well as the 2nd generation Intel Core processor family. With dual channel, triple channel, and quad channel kits, there's a Vengeance configuration that's perfect for your motherboard. Do you have or have you ever updated the BIOS for that MB? If not, then that would be the first thing i would try. http://www2.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?sc=us&id=5034534 http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8H77I/
doassimonsays
Like i wrote you BIOS is already updated. I wrote again to Asus and i'll let you know their answer. Anyway even if you wrote that they are compatible why in this link http://www.corsair.com/it/learn_n_explore/ my modules are not listed? peanutz94
Like I stated above in my previous post ,It's just that Corsair can not test every combination of memory and MB they have or can get your hands on. Same as ASUS QVL...But if you want to let RamGuy confirm this that's cool with me.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2013 peanutz94 is 110% CORRECT! We do not send our modules to any MB manufacturer to have them validate our modules. However, we do on occasion do products swaps and the QVL list that ASUS provides is just what they have tested on the MB at the time of pre-production but what will or will not work with that MB. Not unlike our Memory Configuration tool which we may not have tested a specific MB but we do test with all of the top Manufacturers MB's and certainly one using the same chipset so we have a good idea what will work on most MB's In addition to that we do test all of our modules on a MB at the rated speed so there is a less likely chance of running into problems. Sorry but no one said that Peanutz wasn't right!!! I'm just asking some help in this forum and in Asus forum too....but until now i didn't receive good suggestions for resolving my problem. I really appreciate everyone who helps me but i'd like to know what i've to do for having a computers which works! Regards
peanutz94
doassimonsays RG was just confirming what I told you...No need to get defensive. I understand computer problems are frustrating especially when it's not an issue that is easily solved. Having gone through as many trouble shooting steps as I can , I would have to say the MB is your problem. But if you want to try replacing the memory first ,then all you need to do is use the link on the left side to request an RMA. But if you get a second kit that does the same thing , then you need to RMA the MB.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2013 I would suggest booting to windows with one module then run CPU-Z and capture a screen shot of the SPD tab and save it then shut off the system and replace the other module and do the same then compare the two it to the saved screen shot and lets make sure the SPD's match. if they do then it is either the CPU or the MB I would check that you have the latest MB BIOS and with both modules install go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and then enable XMP and see if it will post.
