carpenj
Any tips on what I could do to fix this? As you can see in the pictures below, no matter what temp my CPU is at, the fans run at the same speed. I have it set to custom. Did I set something up wrong that you see? http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l13/aaron_c_2006/ghx_zps91181e49.png http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l13/aaron_c_2006/Untitled-3_zpscb9312d4.png
Ripshod
If you are running windows 8 bad news, the software isn't compatible atm. Next release should fix that. If you're running CorsairLink 2.2.0 with firmware earlier than 1.0.4 you won't be able to control the fans until the new firmware gets released. Toasted
Are you using the stock fans that come with the unit? @Ripshod Windows 8 doesn't have Aero. It's Windows 7.
carpenj
I'm running Windows 7, x64, and they are SP120 fans (not the ones that came with it). Corsair Link 2.2.0, and firmware is 1.0.4.
Toasted
Unfortunately the H100i can only control the stock fans that it comes with it.
carpenj
Seriously?! What's the difference between the SP120L and the SP120 that causes the SP120 to be incompatible? Guess I blew $40 on SP120's then, because its been so long since I bought them now after all the returns (on my third Corsair Hydro since Christmas). This has been a never-ending PITA like no other. I am getting ready to do a build for a friend, just don't think I can recommend this stuff to him at this point. Hopefully things get cleaned up at some point. Corsair should refund me for the SP120's since they show those fans on the H100i in pictures. Insinuating they will be fully functional when they aren't shows a lack of care and respect to their client base in my opinion.
Ripshod
@Ripshod Windows 8 doesn't have Aero. It's Windows 7. How I missed that I do not know. Nice catch ;)
carpenj
And as an update, the SP120L fans do work with Corsair Link...but they make this awful metallic rattling sound. It's quieter, but much more irritating than, the sound of the SP120 fans. I guess I'll wait for the firmware update and hope that fixes it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2013 There will be a fix for that rattling noise coming from the stock fans. The new set of fans that will work with the i series coolers are going to be PWM fans..
