supergdog
When I first cut it on after install there was no sound. Now I get this horrible grinding noise, but as it get's in the Windows it stops. Is that a fan or pump? I may just have to put the H60 back in and return the H80i. ez12a
turn it off, unplug the fans and try turning it on momentarily. If the sound happens on start up you should be able to tell immediately if it's fan related.
supergdog
It's the pump. I've RMA'd to Amazon so I guess I'll see how it goes.
ez12a
Good luck, Amazon is super helpful in terms of returns. I dont believe you "RMA" for an exchange in a sense but you can return and re order. They refunded me as soon as they saw movement on the shipping label they paid for (they didnt even receive it yet).
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2013 Might have been some air pockets trapped inside the unit. It is not uncommon to have some noise if this is a new unit, due to a lot of variables, like shipping process. Let it break in for a couple of days and see if the noise goes away.
