AX850 Randomly shutting down

Please help this is driving me nuts. Yesterday 20/1/2013 my computer was on all day then suddenly while browsing the internet my computer just shut off and restarted, no warning....nothing! Went into admin tools to check the event viewer "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly"

I have ocd when it comes to things like this, so i disconnected all the power cables checked them and reconnected them, checked my drives, fans, gpu, made sure the mains was securely in the back of the psu, checked the plug. Everything looked fine!

Today 21/1/2013 my computer has been on all day and again while browsing the internet my computer decided to shutdown again, but this time it never restarted, tried to restart it to no avail but noticed the republic of gamers lights where still on my motherboard, so i turned off the switch on the rear of the power supply and left it off for 30 seconds and my computer restarted without any problems!

Again i checked the event viewer in admin tools ""The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly"

I've had this AX850 about a year now and have never had this problem before.

Is it time for an rma?

Have you another PSU to try? Would be a shame to RMA that one just to have the same problem.

Sudden shutdowns can be caused by RAM, HDD, CPU etc.

I dont know if suddenly shutdown is the right word i used....it just went off! Unfortunately i havent got a decent power supply to try, only got a crappy old 300w generic thing.

I can understand it shutting down and restarting straight away if its the cpu, ram or hdd, but the second time it happened it would not start up if i pressed the power button until i turned the switch off on the back of the power supply and left it for 30 seconds?

Overcurrent protection does that, also needs a full power down to reset. Any short could cause that, even a broken USB socket.

I know it's not the answer you want, but I'll be watching this topic ;)

You got me worried.....lol. I'll have another look to see if any lose and check all the usbs, but like I said before Ive got ocd about things like this.

Completely checked all connections on the psu, motherboard, gpu, hdd, fans, lights. made sure there is no screws loose on the motherboard. everything looks fine to me.
