peanutz94
but after a few minutes i heard a disturbing noise coming (i think) from the pump its like there is air circling in the pump its not constantly lets say every 60 seconds and it lasts for 10a15 seconds This is not that uncommon for some air to be trapped at first. Give it a couple of days to work through and it should eventually stop. Additionally you might want to try laying the case on it's side for a day or two , this will also aid in getting the air to work itself through the system. Pudfark
Hmm, I thought 1.0.4 was the latest...interesting... I thought the same...as that is how my H100i was factory "set up". Makes me wonder the "why" of the new H110 and H90 using a different "pump" configuration and no warranty? I really don't like the idea of returning my cooler. If this is all of the info that Corsair is willing or able to release on the "i" series? I'll have no other choice.:ummmm:

Not having any info to the contrary? Makes me wonder? If the "i" series is to be abandoned. The thread cleanup that occurred here has not instilled any buyer confidence in me. Bottom line? I have about ten days to return this product for a full refund from my original place of purchase. Or? I can hang on to it past that time and "roll the dice" on a +$100 item...not knowing, if (at all) or when, it will be fixed? Further, if it cannot be fixed? It could be replaced with an item that has no warranty. So, that's where I'm at and not hearing from a "Corsair Rep" is what's going to make my choice for me. I don't want to return my H100i. I don't want to get "hosed" either.
peanutz94
Pudfark thats a typo that was supposed to be changed. They DO have a five year warranty.
wytnyt
The Official Corsair.com says "No Warranty". not sure where you see that at but look here under tech specs http://www.corsair.com/us/cpu-cooling-kits/hydro-series-water-cooling-cpu-cooler/hydro-series-h110-280mm-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler.html
peanutz94
Oh and as far as the pump goes, I'm sure the difference in design was to compensate for the increased volume of water. A double 140Rad vs a double 120. Well, I'm not 100% sure about that, but i would think they would need a more robust pump for the same reason. Not only that, designs are often improved on. Nothing stays the same EDIT: And this will clear up the FW issue for you too. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=105156
Pudfark
@wytnyt and peanutz94 That was a "heck of a typo"...I see that it has been corrected and is now posted as a 5 year warranty. That's a big positive. Do either of you work for Corsair? Can either of you comment on the most recent change in the FirmWare? I like the way this product H100i cools. Right now for me, to have it work, nothing external is plugged into the pump unit. I'd like to have the whole thing plugged and working. I don't want to RMA. I would like to hear from a knowledgeable Corsair Rep. If either of y'all are a Rep? I'm all ears.
Ash_0
question for RAMGUY when he passes by here : If I buy a H100i, right now, on the corsair store, am I sure to recieve a H100i with the latest firmware (1.0.5 right now apparently) or is it random and I could get an older revision ? It also seems to be considerably out of date. I know you mean to be helpful and I'm appreciative of it. I'm not arguing with you or anyone here and I won't. I'm just saying and meaning, in the nicest possible way, this lack of definitive, accountable information is going to "force" the return of this product H100i. I have said repeatedly in this forum "I don't want to do this." It's the weekend and unreasonable for me to expect an answer this soon. I'll wait till the end of Tuesday. I'll know then. I'm all ears. let me say this,i have 3 kids, custody of my 5 year grand daughter and they mean everything to me now i promise you on everything that they mean to me that I DO NOT WORK FOR CORSAIR! im a mechanic and paint & body man not that thats cleared up it should be common sense that theres a warranty on these coolers as anything new has one. it probably was just missed as the cooler is new... now as to the next question thats yet to be but will be asked why do i so profusely stand up for corsair? i have many of their products along with 2 hydra units that work great and with all the wild and duh complaints happnin on a daily basis, good news is sorely needed and no this response is not solely directed towards you but to all the times being accused of being an employee of corsair just because i express my support of their products
Pudfark
I humbly and sincerely beg your pardon. In no way was I attacking you or any one else. I also have bought Corsair products in the past. Those products have worked great. This current H100i...to soon to tell. I didn't know? Who you are or what you are? I just asked. My bad, I suppose. All I've asked for is an answer from a "Corsair Rep". You've helped a lot of folks here...and recently, your help was erased. Please pardon me for asking? Who was trying to help me? I'm appreciative of everyones's good faith efforts. Thank you.

peanutz94
No problems Ecosse, let us know how you make out. Just to confirm one of your original questions , the most recent FW is 1.0.5 which is what they are shipping with now. The original FW was 1.0.0 but the drive temps don't work anymore, Which drives? If they are spinning Drives they may not read correctly if they do not have SMART. My two old WD blacks do not read correct temps either because there is no temp sensors in them but still show an erroneous temp. I don't know for sure, but that may be the case for you too. Ecosse
got the h100i last thursday came out of the box with fw 1.0.5 the drive temps worked for 3 days and suddenly it stopped btw don't care about that just the f.... anying noise..... otherwise did run prime95 got a cpu temp around 66°c with fans rotating at 600rpm so it runs pretty quiet
peanutz94
It's entirely up to you. You always have the option to RMA it, and since it is less than thirty days old in most cases will help with shipping. But i would suggest you call them via phone or use SKYPE to make the call for nothing.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2013 wytnyt and peanutz94 thank you both for helping out we do appreciate the help. Ecosse I am sorry but if the noise does not dissipate after 4-5 days then I would suggest we replace the unit. It is not uncommon for some air to get trapped in the pump and it will make noise like the noise from an old WD 10 Gig HDD. Please use the steps that PeanutZ94 and Wytnyt suggested and we can sure get it replaced.
