tbirdman
I just purchased a new Dell Dimension 2400 computer for my daughter for her birthday. It came pre-loaded with 256mb of PC2700 DDR Sdram on one stick. There is a second slot available. If I want to add memory, must I add the same size and cas value memory which populates the first slot, or am I open to put any size/ cas value memory in the second slot, as long as it's PC2700 memory? I'd like to put a 512mb module in there, I just want to make sure that it will run correctly. The processor is a P4 2.8 533mhz, not bad for a $650 computer. Thanks muchly. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 3, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 3, 2004 I would run Everest 1.1 and look under chipset and see what the timings are for the memory you have now. If it's Cass 2.5-3-3-7 you should get VS512MB333 or CMX512-2700C2 and you won’t have any problems!
