Moleman
Here's one I haven't seen on the forums. Every once in a while, my K90 likes to take short naps- backlighting shuts off, doesn't respond to input. Doesn't take much to get it back on- either unplugging/replugging the port in the rear of the computer, or jostling it a bit usually does the trick. However, I'm kinda worried that this is some sort of faulty hardware problem, as "just give it a smack" isn't exactly the sort of thing usually associated with software problems. Otherwise it works perfectly fine, but it's a bit frustrating in a week-old piece of hardware.
Toasted
Have you tried reflashing the K90? Latest BIOS and drivers?
Moleman
Firmware and drivers are most recent, but BIOS is one or two updates back- I'll update that and keep an eye on it.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 7, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2013 Try to reflash it too as Toasted suggested.
Moleman
Quick update- Reflashed (for the second time), BIOS updated to most recent version (P8Z77-V LX motherboard, BIOS version 1502)- still got an ~10 second shutdown this morning, fixed with a light smack to the side of the keyboard. Kinda weird. Should I be considering an RMA at this point?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 8, 2013 Yes, I would recommend it if you have to physically hit to work. That implies something is loose or not working as intended.
