rawhide85
I would like to know if I can pair these versions together? I currently have 2x2GB of CM3X2G1600C9DHX ver1.2 and want to add another 2x2 set of the same memory only version 3.2? I'm sure it would be better to just get an 8GB set but I do not have the funds. Thanks in advance for your cooperation regarding this request.
peanutz94
You can try what you like , but there is absolutely no way to tell if any two random kits would work together, even if they were the same part number.Corsair does not suggest or support this practice because it can be hit or miss at best. So if you choose to do so,it's at your own risk. There isn't much Corsair can do to help in that situation. The different version numbers indicate that the modules were made with entirely different chips. Chances of them working without issues or at rated speeds are pretty slim. For what you would pay for an 8 gig kit could potentially be a lot cheaper than trying to mix two different kits.
