Drakoul
Hello I'm trying to install a brand new H 60 cooler in my 1366 socket mobo. Problem is that although there is a backplate for 1366 processors in the box, there aren't any spacers sutable for it,and in the manual there is install instructions only for 1155,1156 and 2011 socket.I tried using the 1155/56 spacers, but the back plate is not securing firmly on the mobo and there is play. What am I missing?

Drakoul
To be 100% sure,I asked for tech support. Won't go on with the install till the matter is clarified. Can you please tell me in case you know if the 1155/56 spacers are also used for 1366?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 22, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 22, 2012 There should be four screws that look like the screws on the left: If not please use the link on the left and request an RMA and explain that you are missing the screws and we will send them to you or ask the reseller to replace the kit for you. Drakoul
Mission accomplished. For future 2nd gen H 60 users. The spacers tagged as suitable for 1155/56 are also suitable for 1366. The back plate being loose on the mobo before installing the cooler is normal, and as soon as you tighten the cooler plate screws it will be secured firmly. I got an i7 980. Idle temp is about 35C and load temps never got over 46C,with fan speed controlled between 50% min and 85% max. That is a 10C drop for idle and 24C(!!!!) for load temps in comparison to the previous air cooler I used,a Coolermaster N520. Fan is very quiet at low speeds but can get really noisy at 100% speed. Good thing is you'll never need to run it at max speed. Pump makes noise but it's very low. I can barely hear it,but my cases top is basically a vent with a huge fan,so in a case with no vent on top it will be practically silent.
