dta
I'd like to ask if the Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 (auto-overclocking) Sodimm will work on: 1) ThinkPad Edge E130 model 3358 (Intel Core i3-3217U or Core i5-3317U) (this ultraportable uses an Intel HM77 chipset) (the Corsair Vengeance says it supports auto-overclocking with 2nd-generation i5 and i7; the above notebook uses either a 3rd-gen i3 or i5) specs here: http://shopap.lenovo.com/au/en/products/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-edge/e130/ 2) HP Pavilion G4-2012TX (Intel Core i5-3210M) (I believe this uses Intel HM76 chipset) more detailed specs of said laptop: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=ph&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03377591 The local store here has a few stocks of the Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1866 sodimm, but didn't have stock of the DDR3-1600 (which would likely be a better fit for the 2 above notebooks). Although I asked another local shop and they say they'll likely have some incoming stock of the Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 auto-overclocking Sodimm. But the price difference between the 2 is just around US$10, thus I was thinking I could just get the higher version (onstock) if it would also work for the above 2 laptops. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2012 According to the link you provided no it will only support up to DDR1600 so I would suggest CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10 modules for that system. Memory Up to 8 GB DDR3 1600Mhz (2 DIMM slot)
