Drangueos
mine is doing a "buzzing" high pitch noise even after the firmware update. the noise is not coming from the pump. if I connect the fans somewhere else the noise is gone, so I guess is something with the fan controller. Drangueos
I just received my h100i 2 hours ago, replacing a h100 that was stopping one fan from time to time.... now this high pitch noise.... I'm thinking about returning that and going back to my Corsair A70.
JayGB1982
Any news on this annoying whine? How can we fix it? I prefered the rattle from before this is just annoying
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 30, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 30, 2012 We are looking into this now but so far we have not been able to duplicate the issue. Can you post a Video?
Drangueos
I'll try to do a video, but I found out what is doing the noise. the noise is coming from the fans when they are connected to the h100 fan controller, I connected the fan to my fan controller and the noise is gone. Drangueos
Videos: only the fan, connected to the h100i. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PENdI0InbWI my computer is over my desk, so it is really annoying this noise.
Seijuro808
I have this problem too. Received and successfully installed my H100i on November 30, 2012. Initially plugged the 2 fans included in the kit into the pump as a normal installation, and I noticed the high pitched buzzing/whistling sound. I removed them from the pump and the noise immediately stopped. Plugged the fans into my 650D case's fan controller, and the high pitch sound is gone. Drangueos
Probably I'm going to return the H100i, go back to my A70 and forget about water cooling for ever.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 3, 2012 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 3, 2012 Probably I'm going to return the H100i, go back to my A70 and forget about water cooling for ever. Sorry to hear that but if the cooler is keeping your CPU temp within reasonable range, I'd suggest that you hang on to it right now until we have determine what the root cause is and once we have figured it out, we will provide you guys a fix for this issue. Drangueos
So I went back to my Corsair A70... My max temps after running prime 30 minutes with H100i was 71-77-72-67 with 20C room temp. (using the default H100i thermal paste) My max temps after running prime 30 minutes with A70 was 69-74-71-66 with 22C room temp. (using MX-4 thermal paste) So with 2C more on my room the A70 is performing better than the H100.
FilthyDragon
Probably I'm going to return the H100i, go back to my A70 and forget about water cooling for ever. It's the air part of this water cooler that's broken ;)
Drangueos
It's the air part of this water cooler that's broken ;) actually I think the problem is the frequency of the pump is interfering on the fans.
