600T Annoyance

I was putting my new Z77 build together in a 600T when I discovered that the H100i was only about half an inch above a motherboard heatsink. I thought perhaps I could put the fans on top under the mesh, but it looks like the fans are too thick to even do that. So it looks like I'm totally out of luck with this cooler/case combination.

I was debating between this case and the 650D, but I went with this one because of the some of the build quality complaints I read about the 650 and because it didn't come with fan mounts on the side panel.

After looking at some pictures, it appears the 650D has far more room above the motherboard. There's easily enough room for one set of fans and possibly enough for push/pull.

Needless to say I'm pretty annoyed right now. I noticed that there was a notice in the box saying not to return it to the store. Does this mean if I want a refund so I can get the 650D, I have to set up some kind of RMA through you guys?

Also, does this mesh side panel insert for it have the fine mesh like the front and PSU grates have, or is it just the coarse grating like the 600T has? It doesn't look like it after using the zoom feature, but I figured I would ask.

From the pictures that I can see the clearance in the 650D doesn't look that much larger than the 600T...

My 600T has the large fan near the motherboard... You could remove that fan, put the h100i there on the inside of the mesh and then the fans on the outside of the mesh, below the outer plate.http://www.corsair.com/en/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/6/0/600tw_side_open_a_2_1.png

Mounting the fans inside the case under the rad is in no way an option for reasons stated in the OP.

The fans do technically fit under the top mesh, but it touches the fans and puts a fair amount of pressure on them after clicking closed. Is this not going to affect the fans at all?

As for the 650D, you can clearly see here that you can mount the whole thing inside the case, and the fans don't even reach down to where the I/O shield starts.

edit: I guess I'll plug the fans in with the shroud on just to test and make sure nothing is affected by the pressure.

edit #2: I guess I jumped the gun with the grate pressure thing. I set them in there and moved the case back and forth just to see if they would move, and they do slide a little. I guess I mistook that bit of pressure right before it clicks in as it hitting the fans. I was wanting push/pull for it, but the difference between all the fan configurations with this cooler appear to be negligible anyway.

Nope, as long as the mesh is not hitting thefan blades themselves it wont hurt the fans at all.
