csemoses
so i decided to experiment. maybe this has been answered already, maybe not. I connected 2 x Cougar CFV12HP fans to my H80i. The only difference i see is that the profiles take a lot longer to respond when changed. ie: it's taken almost a minute going from a fixed high RPM to the quiet profile, to get down to where it's target is. I'm not sure why this unit would not be able to control other PWM fans. RAMguy you able to shed some light on this? Cheers!
ez12a
it's normal for 3rd party fans to respond very slowly. Corsair has said they're working on increasing 3rd party fan support to CorsairLink, but it's probably not a priority at the moment since there are a lot of other software problems to deal with. My GTs also took a long time to respond to slow. So in short, it's "normal"
ersot
So, is there any reason as to why the official Corsair H100i/H80i thread got removed? It seems irresponsible and immature to pull this type of thing without some sort of reasonable explanation from the staff. Any hows, here's to hoping that there will be a fix in the foreseeable future.

Any hows, here's to hoping that there will be a fix in the foreseeable future. I've asked about the support for the "i" series elsewhere on these forums. No answer yet. I've got a bad feeling about all of this. The good news for me, is that I have 19 more days, if I get no answer, to RMA back to the Egg...CL and the fan speeds never worked out for me. I hope somebody in authority around here can answer. I love my temps with the H100i. Everything else, ain't been answered or fixed, yet.:sigh!:
ersot
We are going into the 3rd month now. Is there going to be a possibility of a firmware update this month or not?--It would be nice to have an ETA. Anyways, here's to hoping.
svtfmook
it's in internal beta, they will release it to a few select users for beta testing, when it passes, it will be released. according to a post in another thread that is.
FilthyDragon
This is just like a gaming forum... No ETA? No status updates? We're customers that have paid for this product already, I would like to know why we're not getting any information on this at all. I'm tired of hopelessly waiting for a firmware update that wil hopefully fix this issue (though im not really convinced that it will solve it). I liked corsair, but this is getting rediculous and i am seriously considering not buying any corsair product for my next build.

I liked corsair, but this is getting rediculous and i am seriously considering not buying any corsair product for my next build. i can totally understand, i too am upset that my H100i is not working as advertised. but honestly, out of all the corsair products i own (ssd, 3 sets of memory, 2 cases, 10+ fans, 3 power supplies, h50, h60), and the H100i is the only thing that has a problem, well, the cooler works just fine, it's the software/driver that's the problem. so i would say 1 small problem vs all the products i have had that work wonderfully for me, is not bad at all. and they are not keeping anyone in the dark, they stated they have an update in beta, they cannot give an eta because they don't know how long the beta will take. the cooler itself works just fine, hook the fans up to the motherboard or a fan controller and control them from that. Yock
Just get some other fans and you will be happy. I my self bought some Arctic F12 PWM fans and they are working great, even works with the link software, temperatures are the same as with Corsair fans. The fans are even dirt cheap. TacticalTimbo
I've just installed a new H100i, it must be from pretty new stock, as it has come with 1.0.5 installed. I too am getting this high pitched whine, it pulsates with the speed of the fans. However I've also found that at certain low speeds, on quite setting, that I'm getting this subtle gurgling/rattle, it sounds like air in the rad...please tell me I'm not the only person that's getting this?! I have attached a pair of Noctua 3 pin fans (i.e. not PWM), and all the whine is gone, along with this weird gurgling sound. Please someone help, it feels as though I get nothing but grief with Corsair products!

csemoses
i have to admit, i'm getting sick of Corsair's lack of QA these days. Specifically regarding this issue, yes, but also more generally. (550d was missing some parts recently, for example).
TacticalTimbo
if you added different fans and the noise is gone, what help do you need? Well, is it just the fans, or is there an inherent fault with the pump/controller? The fans I used to test with are not long term suitable, They are NF-P12's with 1300rpm speed. Lastly, I hear lots of complaints about the whining, but this gurgling/rattling sound isn't talked about so much...have you heard about it? I assume it can't be the rattling everyone was talking about way back, as I'm got fw 1.0.5!?
peanutz94
TacticalTimbo, yeah, it's the fans for the most part. Corsair has been saying that there is a new set of fans that are going to be released soon that will take care of the noise. The FW is supposed to address some of the issues going on with the CL issues. as far as I know. Also how do they compare to the Gentle Typhoon AP-15's I hear everyone raving about? tbh, having to replace the fans in order to make a £90 cooler usable, is totally unreasonable ...please could RAM Guy, or someone else from Corsair, chime in to reassure me that replacement fans are on the way!? xamrox
Be Quiet shadow wings high speed. (2200 rpm) airflow: 76.2 cfm, ur suggested fans only have 58cfm, but I think it doesnt really matter if u get good temps, and be quiet dont have to be the best, but since I got my PSU from them und its really silent, I m a big fan. and forget about RAM Guy and Corsair there will be no solution. they just released another unit (h110) and the h100i will be forgotten with its problem just like the h100. I take it this is the model; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-020-BQ ? How did you fix it to the rad, it look as though those push pins it comes with wouldn't work, can you just use the Corsair screws? I only suggested the other fan as it came highly recommended by other H100i users; I too thought the 1700rpm looked a little low. As for the H110, I think in a way it's actually a lower model...no Link function or lighting etc. However I fear you're probably right, however it'll be the last Corsair product I buy, if Corsair do dump on us! I've only just received replacement ear cushions, for a pair of Vengeance 1500's that came with a split on one side. Back on the subject of the H100i, I fear the problem is that it can't reliably deliver the amps the included fans require...it's certainly a power delivery issue; most these replacement fans draw less current! kKNd
Yesterday I got my brand new H80i with 1.0.4 firmware installed by default. It was a nightmare to mount it, I still think it is not perfect so I probably have to remove it the third time and put it back because I am not satisfied with the temps but this high pitch noise is killing me. It's exactly the same as in OP's video. I can't believe there is no fix for it yet. Also I don't think it is coming from the fan in my case. (I don't have a very high end cpu so I'm just using one fan) When I'm stopping the fan with my fingers it is still audible. Sometimes it goes silent only to come back after a few seconds and annoy me to hell. I am sure it is coming from the pumps. Also in the Corsair Link software it shows this odd info: link wtf... Nothing changes if I try to adjust RPM divider, it seems it does nothing. I am so disappointed... :/ I wanted a silent cooler but this is more noisy than my stock cooler. Toasted
Unplug the fan from the pump and see if the noise is still present. There will be a new set of fans that should fix the high-pitch noise. They will be PWM instead.
kKNd
I completely stopped the fan blades with my finger and the noise was still present. This is the reason I am blaming it on the pump. I will try unplugging it though but I don't think it should make any noise if it is not moving even when it is plugged in.

How did you avoid having the circular frame dig into the rad's core (looks like it's proud), and didn't you have to make an educated guess, at when to stop tightening the screws; I imagine being rubber mounts, that they are fairly compressible!? On another note, after setting up a profile in the Link2 software, I'm noticing that the fans only do considerable ramping up and down, if the software is open/running...if I don't have it running, the unit is far less active; I thought it was supposed to save the profile into the unit, and then not need it's presence? The colours of thr LED seem to change, and the fan speed does vary some without Link running, but there is a marked difference after it's opened? .................................................................... Also I believe the noise emanates from the pump/controller...it's a combination issue between the pack-in fans, and this cooler.
