Hi everybody. I work for an IT company and bought an H100i for one of our OEM builds. We have exactly the same problem. Bought the h100i on 12 Dec 2012 and have the high pitched noise since day one. The unit came with the latest firmware installed (so I guess it's not one of the first batch), but the terrible irritating noise is there!

Corsair do something with this, this noise is really annoying, especially for us professionals who do serious work for many hours a day on our computers!

Holidays r over , where is the new update corsair ?????

their in the process of testing, with testing usually changes are made so giving an exact day and time is nearly impossible,

im sure they want to release it as much as we want it.

Nobody is saying they don't want it out as much as we do or aren't working as hard as they can, I am confident that they are. Just asking for a current status on the situation since the holidays are over.

that i think is hard to project as when one aspect is changed it affects another area in the software and if they were to set a date,it would be a guess and no one wants that.i think their gonna do their best to get the bugs out and will play it safe on releasing it too soon, this type of software is much more complicated than most would think.

I have the same problem my fans make also a rattling noise.

When i installed the H100I there were first no noise, but because in many youtube reviews was said that a new firmware was launched for a number of problems and fixes

and on the corsair site were no warns it could harm my H100I, I thought I just could install the firmware with the latest Corsair Link software.

Now im waiting a month for a new firmware and i use my laptop more often because off the noice. So please corsair do something/or let us know something!

I just purchased an H80i this past weekend that was shipped with firmware 1.0.4 already installed and can confirm that I am also having this same issue. At first I was excited to find just how quiet the normal fan noise became when I put the unit into the "Quiet" profile. However, I quickly determined that the remaining high pitched noise in my case wasn't coming from elsewhere in my case, but from the H80i.

Hoping to throw my experience into the topic so that a solution may eventually be found/deployed.

Think like a baker. Good things take time to cook, or you want fast food?

Fast food tastes like it does for a reason and do you really know where the ingredients came from?

I find that my fans only make the excessive fan noise if you have them running at 1950 RPM or higher. below that, my H100i is quiet and works well with CL.

I just bought and built this entire system from the ground up a week or so before Christmas. I went with a multitude of corsair products because of many good reviews, yet my H100i has made the same high pitched whining noise as others have claimed, and just about 20 minutes ago the green LED completely died as far as I can tell, since it's totally non-responsive. This is disappointing.

Is there anything I can do about the green LED? Or am I simply out of luck?

I would like to jump on this high pitch noise train. I hope you guys find a fix for this soon! I am starting to feel like I am being slowly tortured with this whine. Thanks for listening to my whine about your whine. Fix it tia!

The cooler is facing up with the hoses on the top facing in. It was the only way to use the unit without cutting into my case to make room on the top. Not sure if it will damage the unit over time being side mounted.

it will work just fine like you have it.

I'm not sure if I feel like having the unit RMA'd just for the green LED burning out. The temperatures are still good and I'm pleased in that respect. The noise though from the whine, and the LED burning out so fast make me timid about investing anymore in Corsair products though, and I plan on building atleast 2 more full systems within the next year.

We'll see what the future holds for my H100i and I'll keep thinking on it.

it has a 5 yr warranty so you have plenty of time to decide

ramguy has responded several times regarding the fix

he can only say it should be soon

others have been patiently been waiting much longer

it shouldnt be much longer

The high pitch noise fix is on its final stages. Sorry for the long wait but once its officially released, that noise issue will get sorted out once and for all.

looking forward to a fix, one way or another.

For me, (h80i) putting a pair of 7v resistors really helped cut down the noise (and rpm obviously, but i was running quiet profile before) ... with 7v resistors and running the fans at 'max %" the noise is a lot less irritatiing, but still present.

I should append the above: i bought my unit with the current firmware on it, and have only tried the latest software.
