neosephiroth86
Hi! Here's my configuration: AsRock Z77 Pro4-M Socket 1155 Intel Z77 DDR3 SATA3 USB3 MicroATX and CPU Intel Core i5-3570k 3,4GHz Socket 1155 77W . I have plenty of corsair ram to choose, which one is better? peanutz94
Basically they are all the same excluding color and the height of the heat spreaders. The only kits I would shy away from would be the CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 kit because it requires 1.65v for 1600mhz operation and your CPU should only use 1.5v memory. The CML8GX3M2A1600C9W is a 1.35v kit is also compatible, but I have seen users have to turn around and run them at 1.5v at 1600mhz instead of the 1.35v they are rated at. Not that is the norm...they will run at those spec in some systems just not absolutely sure about your specs.
neosephiroth86
thanks a lot, I would like to do a little overclock for my system (since my cpu is a k series), would this CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8R (Cas Latency 8 ) be ok? I am not well aware wheter one of theese RAM is better or not for an overclock... THANKS
peanutz94
Yes those would work just fine. They may be slightly faster than the CL9 vengeance parts . Corsair can only guarantee the rated speeds of the memory so what ever you get out of your CPU overclock is unknown . It would be different for every CPU anyway. HU16E
CML8GX3M2A1600C9W Not to influence your decision, but wanted to share my experience with this kit. I have tested them on Intel 6 & 7 chipset MSI mainboards, & on two X79's. They are simply amazing in all the tests! Even when tested 4 mixed kits not even close to being matched by serial number or batch/lot in the X79's, they worked better than rated spec with tighter timings (8 8 8 21) & confirmed by DMM DRAM V. @ 1.32v's! Results I had may not be typical, so no guarantees as peanutz94 had mentioned some systems had to run them 1.50v's. The mixing of kits is not recommended. The difference in performance between 8 8 8 21 & 9 9 9 24 is so small, results will not be detected in everyday use. Buy the rated 1600 Corsair kit that best suits your taste, color, heatspreader design, & price range. :):
