Abit AV8

Recommended Posts

I want to build a new System very soon and just wanted to check if this Memory will work with my System, i could not find any information about this elsewhere in the internet. I'm going to build the System like this:

Motherboard: Abit A8V

RAM: Corsair XMS Kit 1024MB PC3200 (TWINX1024-3200XL) (2x 512Mbyte)

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Socket 939 + Thermalright SLK 948U

Graphics: Asus A800XT (Rad. X800XT PE)

Power Supply: Enermax Coolergiant EG475AX-VHB(G)SFMA - 470W

HDD: 2x WD Raptor 10k UPM

I wanted to get the Pro Version of this RAM first but I don't know if that will fit with this CPU Cooler, because the RAM is very tall...does anyone know if the pro ram would fit? Will this RAM work well with this Motherboard (This Motherboard only supports a max. RAM Voltage of 2.8V is that sufficient?)? I have never set RAM before (in the bios) how does this work? What is the difference between this RAM and the Pro version exept for the cool LEDs?

I'm sorry for all of these Questions, but i can't find any answers in the internet.

Thank you

I am not sure about the CPU cooler you have you might check with the maker Thermal take and see if there will be at least 1.6" of clearence over the first memory slot with this MB! And suggested Voltage would be 2.75 Volts so 2.8 should do well!
