Dave31
I currently own the 16GB (4x4GB) Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3-1600 kit (9-9-9-24-2N) and I'm running them in an i7-3820 on an Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard. I noticed that XMP sets the cmd rate of this memory to 2T. My last memory kit (not Corsair) did not have a cmd rate setting in it's XMP profile but the 4th timing was higher on that memory. I understand that cmd rate is function of the memory controller and the memory based on what I read. Is it set to 2T by XMP profile for stability reasons among different systems or is it because this memory was just not meant to be running at a cmd rate of 1T, no matter what system you are running them on? Is SB-E capable of running 4 sticks of DDR-3 1600 at 9-9-9-24 timings at 1T cmd rate?
peanutz94
Command rate should always be 2T. This is also what Corsair recommends for best stability as you pointed out. You can try 1T ,but if it is not stable ,, just set it back. You wouldn't notice any real world performance difference anyway.
