Which Mem for Thinkpad A31p?

Hi,

After speaking with your tech support yesterday, I ordered two:

VS512SDS333 parts from NewEgg; hope to have them this week.

Later, I searched this forum for: VS512SDS333 posts and found

what appears to be numerous problem reports relating to these

parts. Two questions:

1) Are the: VS512SDS333s the highest quality Corsair part

available for my Thinkpad A31p, Model: 2653H4U?

2) Have there been quality problems with VS512SDS333s?

The recommended part from IBM is: 31P9832 512 PC2700 CL2.5 NP DDR

described at: http://www-132.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?lang=en_US&catalogId=-840&langId=-1&prmenbr=1&cntrfnbr=1&partNumber=31P9832&storeId=1&cntry=840

This Thinkpad has been rock solid with it's 256MB base memory.

Are the above Corsair parts as compatible as the IBM parts?

Please advise. Thanks in advance for your help.

Best Regards,

Joe

PS: I have high end Corsair 512 MB parts in my son's game machine and they've been great.

VS512SDS333 should run great in this system! There have been a few reporting problems, but I think most have been either just a bad module or and issue with mixing the memory with what came with their system! Many times OEM's do not use PC-2700 and you would not be able to mix DDR266 and DDR333 with most notebooks!
