Modding a 650D to add an 800 SATA3 back plate

i'm looking to get a new case and i'm thinking the 650D is probably the closest to my requirements, however the lack of true hot swap bothers me a little.

I was wondering about the feasibility of fitting the 800D SATA3 backplate and if anyone has tried it

thanks for the response.

can you tell me why it won't fit?

i understand it won't just simply plug in and i'd have to make a some kind of mounting plate, but will it not fit due to the drive spacing, or because of the lack of physical space between the case and the drives?

you're probably right, toasted. it's not someting i'm keen to do right now, maybe further down the road though.

having said that, i've just taken another quick look at the cages, there appears to be enought room to mount a bracket on the left side of the cage. i could probably go top to bottom too.

i'm surprised at how little room there is behind the hdd's

i am certainly going to be moving the cages forward (left), regardless of whether i fit a back plate, or not, as there's plenty of much need room there.
