  • 2 weeks later...

I decided to remove the lower portion of my HD cage to free up some more space and add a intake fan to my front panel -

Had to bore out these holes a little so i can thread some fan screws in -

Worked on some more cable management while i was at it as well -

I love this build, it's so close to what I'd like to do!

I'd like to try it with the gunmetal case, ASRock Z77 Extreme6 mobo, red fan trim, and gold/red/black cable sleeving (German flag colors). I'd also want the EVGA GTX670 with their other cooler design - with the white label. And maybe a new 240GB, 360GB or 480GB Corsair Force GS SSD with toggle NAND, but I digress - :D:

To start, however - I'd just be moving my current rig over because a new case & fans is what I need the most...

I'd be interested in finding out which position cooled your video cards better - set up as you just showed in the last picture above, or with the HDD cage full of parts dropped to the bottom and the front panel fan moved up to where it blows unrestricted from the front of the case to in-between your 2 GTX 670 cards. I also wonder if that would make for temp changes elsewhere - such as your HDD.

Do you think you might be able to try that experiment sometime?

Lastly, perhaps you could help out on this thread - http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=108257

There's an interesting conversation going on.

Again, only if you have the time & desire...

BTW - I noticed that you installed that new front intake panel fan from inside the case.

I'm pretty sure there is space in front of the case but behind the filter to install them.

You should be able to install 2 fans at each HDD cage - 1 in front and 1 behind.

Of course, you may have decided to install that one the way you did to see if it runs quieter or more powerfully further away from the mesh filter... :D:

From what i am seeing there is no room to fit a fan behind the HG cage sir.

I even had to tap the holes so i can thread 4 fan screws in, so in reality i don't think Corsair thought many people would even attempt to put fans there lol

My video cards run very cool as is so i am sure the 1 fan i have blowing towards them will help but it wont be a big difference.I just wanted to free up some space down there and maybe get a little more air flow in the process.

My next move is to add about 6 more led strips and maybe some sound deadening material to the front panel.

Here is where my led strips start to come in to the case -

I also added 2 fans to the bottom of the case so i will post more pics tomorrow.

Decided to go all out with a custom WC loop so this is what i have ordered so far -

I ended up going with the XSPC EX240 Multiport Dual 120mm Low Profile Split Fin Radiator for the rear since 2x240 seems like more then enough to fit my needs.

I also ordered another twin pack of the Newegg.com - Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition CO-9050008-WW 120mm Twin Pack High Static Pressure Case Fan which i have on my H100 right now and the quality and performance is great.

I am still undecided on a res/pump but other then that the only thing left is fittings, tubing, thermal paste, fluid.

Parts ordered today -

XSPC RayStorm High Performance Acetal CPU Liquid Cooling Block

XSPC Razor nVidia GTX 680 Full Coverage VGA Block X2 - On back order and should be back in stock shortly

XSPC Razor SLI High Flow Bridge

XSPC EX240 Crossflow Dual 120mm Low Profile Split Fin Radiator

XSPC EX240 Multiport Dual 120mm Low Profile Split Fin Radiator

ModRight XXXL Noise Dampening

And i am still going with the Swiftech MCP655 but in this modified state -

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_201&products_id=33677

Just the few leds i have in the case are already doing a good job setting off this tubing so i am happy with that -
