PC-2700 REG ECC and ASUS PC-DL Deluxe Issue

Hi all - I just put together a dual-processing system running an ASUS PC-DL Deluxe MB and I'm trying to run it with 1GB PC-2700 REG ECC RAM (CM72SD1024RLP-2700) and having no luck at all - my machine will not even POST with that RAM in it. I've isolated the problem to the RAM itself as I have other older generic RAM that works fine in the MB. Here is the exact RAM I purchased and the retailer it came from. From all the descriptions that I've read everywhere, this should work fine. Oh, and my CPUs are running at a 533 FSB so the 333mhz memory frequency should be fine. I got 2 sticks and neither work, so I'm assuming that if neither work, they're not bad. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Any help is extremely appreciated.

http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=PC-DL%20Deluxe&langs=09
System Memory -4 x 184-pin DIMM sockets. Each DIMM socket supports 64MB to 1GB Dual-Channel PC2700 DDR unbuffered DIMM module -Supports ECC/Non-ECC based 128MB to 4GB memory capacity
That board does not support registered memory! See if the retailer can swap it for non-registered memory.
